About the role

Join Wealthfront’s product design team to help us empower people to build wealth on their own terms. Finance is fundamental to living our lives, but financial services are usually complex and often designed to take advantage of the people who use them. We’re changing all that. We pioneered making diversified investing and tax optimization easily available to regular people through robo advisors, and now we’re working on empowering people with the context and tools to achieve their goals. Many products make investing easy, but we’re uniquely focused on making it easy to invest well.

You’ll lead projects ranging from quick data-driven interaction experiments on Wealthfront’s web and mobile apps to strategic initiatives reshaping Wealthfront’s business model. You’ll consider the entire journey from someone staring at the ceiling late at night wondering about their finances to leaving them feeling confident and in control of their financial future (and maybe using a few Wealthfront products along the way). Your work will have a large impact on shaping the experience people have as they try out, sign up, and begin to manage their finances through Wealthfront. You will play a key role in shaping our strategy for growing the company and helping people make sense of investing for their future. You’ll collaborate with a high-performing cross-functional team with deep expertise in Product, Engineering, Content Strategy, and Marketing. Success in this role requires a healthy balance of excellence in craft, a strong sense for the impact your work has on people’s lives, and scrappy iteration based on data and user research.

Design at Wealthfront

Designers at Wealthfront are empowered to be innovative, creative and strategic because design is critical to realizing our vision and succeeding as a business. We are expected to define problems, new opportunities and solutions that are deeply rooted in human psychology and behavior as well as a sound understanding of our technology and business, all in very tight collaboration with engineers, product managers, researchers and data scientists. We’re making big bets, and innovation is encouraged. We embrace failure and care much more about the magnitude of success versus percentage of times we are successful. And unlike many organizations, design is an equal partner to engineering and product and plays an important role in strategic decisions.

We’re a remote friendly team and open to candidates from both the US and Canada. We’re also total nerds, deeply committed foodies, and unable to imagine functioning without Figma. If solving complex, often deeply messy and human problems to craft elegant experiences that directly impact peoples’ lives is your thing, get in touch.
