Job Description

Shop is on a mission to change how we shop. From the fastest checkout experience in Shop Pay to all-in-one order tracking and easy ways to find and shop local brands in app, Shop is making shopping better one step at a time for both shoppers and the merchants they buy from. 

We are currently looking for a Sr Product Marketing Manager to work alongside our product teams building Shop Pay Checkout. In this role, you’ll build engaging new programs to drive growth of upcoming Shop Pay identity products and tools, and partner to drive growth of our core checkout offering. You’ll empower and partner with merchant-facing teams to effectively tell the Shop Pay ecosystem story and build scalable programs to drive activation and retention of our growing suite of products. 

 

The Shop Pay team is scrappy and fast-paced, and we’re looking for a self-starter who balances strategic, analytical, and marketing acumen, with a roll-up your sleeves and “get it done” attitude. There are many moving parts to this product and the ideal candidate will be able to determine what the most impactful marketing efforts are to focus on based on the broader product dynamics at play.

 

This is a chance to get in early on a very exciting rocket ship & have a front row seat as Shop Pay becomes the world’s most-used checkout option.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Merchant Success, Sales, Product, and related product marketing teams to evolve and oversee merchant growth of Shop Pay checkout & related ecosystem products.

  • Collaborate to define the messaging, positioning and go-to-market strategy to enable successful product launches and growth campaigns for Shop Pay Checkout products

  • Identify KPIs, set targets, and analyze the results of relevant product launches and growth campaigns that directly drive growth

  • Partner to facilitate the development of all necessary collateral (content & creative) to enable merchant-facing teams to tell the Shop Pay story

  • Understand user needs, market trends, and competitive forces to help craft strong merchant and buyer narratives; work with UX and product teams to improve and introduce new products and features based on merchant feedback

  • Build cross-functional alignment and execute the go-to-market process, tracking success metrics accordingly

Qualifications

Requirements 

  • At least 5+ years of experience in customer success, marketing, product marketing, or product for a B2B or B2C SaaS product (*B2B Experience Preferred)

  • Experience working with sales or customer success teams, and scaling adoption of complex products

  • Ability to thrive in uncertainty, resolve ambiguity, and think quickly on your feet

  • A resourceful attitude and great interpersonal skills - you'll be working with a lot of different teams across Shopify and many merchants

  • Able to manage multiple competing priorities, choosing to execute only those activities that will deliver the greatest impact

  • Proven ability to find unique/ efficient approaches to developing and delivering a plan and continually looking for a better way to do things.

  • You love working cross-functionally across different teams, building relationships and influencing across the organization to drive results — especially sales & customer success organizations

It would be a bonus if you have

  • Previous experience working with marketing technology (and brownie points for experience in the worlds of email, CRM, marketing automation, or customer data platforms)

  • Built narratives or driven the growth of payments or financial services-related products

  • Lived in the shoes of our merchants as an entrepreneur yourself
