Job Description

We are looking for a results-oriented, self-starting Product Marketer who will work at the intersection of product development and marketing. You will be leading new product go-to-market strategy, product activation, and maximizing the lifetime value of our buyers and sellers at all stages of the funnel.

Etsy prides itself on a product delivery culture defined by deep user research, continuous discovery, rapid prototyping, and frequent product delivery. In this role, you'll be a key partner in this process, helping product teams articulate customer value and plan effective product delivery and launch while also advocating on behalf of marketing to ensure that product road maps support marketing strategies. You’ll operate in a highly cross-functional role, partnering closely with Product, Engineering, Design, Brand, Content, Analytics, Research, and Marketing to improve the buyer and seller experience through holistic and targeted marketing design to drive conversion, engagement, and retention. 

This is a full-time position located in either the US or UK, and we are considering remote candidates based in the US or UK. Etsy offers three different work modes to meet the variety of needs and preferences of our team: Flex mode for candidates who are comfortable traveling to an office location 2+ times per week, Remote mode, and Office-based mode. About the Role
In this role you will:

  • Own the product marketing strategy specific to Etsy’s core markets and market expansion plans 

  • Serve as a specialist on market-specific nuances, partnering with product and marketing teams to advise on opportunity sizing and prioritization across country-specific strategies

  • Lead competitive analysis in individual markets to inform go-to-market plans 

  • Partner with product, marketing and brand teams to determine what, where and how, and to whom we market key features and product launches, taking into account user needs and business objectives across Etsy’s core global markets.

  • Articulate the user journey, uncover user insights, and identify key user needs to focus product roadmaps on the largest business opportunities.

  • Serve as a key collaborator between the Product and Marketing organizations.

  • Define the target audience, craft clear positioning statements and clearly articulate and communicate Etsy’s unique value proposition for buyers and sellers.

  • Develop and align on-site and off-site marketing plans in collaboration with channel owners and the broader marketing team.

  • Set clear, measurable product marketing goals and track progress against them making continuous recommendations for how we can improve impact.

Qualifications

About You
Ideally you’ll bring: 

  • 5+ years of marketing, brand, product marketing, and/or consulting experience, preferably operating in a multi-market or global role. 

  • Strong understanding of market nuances and cultural differences across countries and how to use those differences to develop business strategies. 

  • Strong command of data and ability to use data to inform strategies and tell a strong narrative

  • Experience collaborating with and influencing cross-functional teams while maintaining great relationships 

  • Strong command of customer experience, data, growth marketing, and product

  • Creative with a passion for solving the toughest problems in a way that are mutually useful for the Etsy buyers and sellers and Etsy as a company

  • Experience simplifying concepts through impactful marketing messaging

  • Track record of driving strong growth and results through marketing strategies and campaigns

  • Thrive in an independent, high energy environment where tasks, priorities, and projects change rapidly.

  • Passionate about Etsy’s mission and are brimming with ideas on how we could do it better.

  • Love market research! You know your market, customers, and competition better than anyone, and you’re strong at integrating this information into your growth strategies
