Job Description

Shopify is seeking a Senior Product Marketing Manager that will be responsible for building awareness and driving adoption of Shopify Checkout across merchants and developers. They will work closely with cross-functional teams to determine the right go-to-market approach across product positioning and messaging, highlighting how Checkout fits into the overall platform story.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of merchant and developer audiences, as well as the product life cycle. This person will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and proven product marketing experience – preferably in the eCommerce or B2B space. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player who brings energy and creativity to deliver high-impact marketing communications that highlights brand value and delivers measurable results to the business. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented eCommerce or business technology environment. 

The Impact You Will Have

  • Own the go-to-market strategy and process for product, aligning initiatives across the customer lifecycle
  • Define the best approach to communicate the value of Shopify Checkout, understanding user segmentation, product roadmap, market trends, and strategy
  • Shape the narrative around the value of Shopify Checkout to prospects and customers
  • Own the content strategy around Shopify Checkout, including what content is surfaced and when
  • Lead efforts around differentiated, compelling product messaging and content to create engaging experiences for prospects and customers
  • Drive adoption by effectively communicating the value of features, proof points, and use cases
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to execute go-to-market plans that further adoption
  • Understand data and insights, developing a deep understanding of our target audience across merchant and developer use cases
  • Identify, monitor and analyze content performance relative to business goals
  • Be an expert in product execution and delivery with attention to detail

Qualifications

  • Experience in product marketing, preferably in the B2B or eCommerce space
  • Experience developing content and writing engaging stories with a deep understanding of merchants and developers in the commerce space
  • Ability to leverage data, insights, and research to drive decisions and measure the impact of efforts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfort with being a flexible, cross-functional team player in a fast-paced, often ambiguous, environment
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize efforts based on need
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
