Job Description

Shopify is seeking a Senior Product Marketing Lead that will be responsible for building awareness and driving adoption of Shopify Checkout with merchants and developers. They will work closely with cross-functional teams to generate audience and market insights, define segmentation, and craft positioning and messaging, highlighting how Checkout fits into our overall platform story.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of merchant and developer audiences, along with a strong background leading teams, crafting go-to-market strategies, driving sales enablement, and managing overall product success. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team leader who brings energy and creativity to deliver high-impact product marketing strategies and marketing communications that highlights product value and delivers measurable results to the business. This person will thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment, ensuring the success of our product launches and driving continued adoption.

The Impact You Will Have

  • Define positioning and messaging for Shopify Checkout’s products and features, ensuring a clear and compelling value proposition
  • Own the go-to-market strategy and execution for new and existing products, aligning initiatives across the customer lifecycle
  • Define the best approach to communicate product value, understanding user segmentation, product roadmap, market trends, and strategy
  • Own the marketing communications strategy, including distribution channels and campaign plans
  • Develop sales enablement collateral, such as presentations, battle cards, and case studies, to support the sales process and drive growth
  • Develop growth plans with defined success metrics, tracking and analyzing performance to optimize campaigns and increase product adoption
  • Understand data and insights, developing a deep understanding of our target audience across merchant and developer use cases.
  • Lead a team of seasoned product marketers, defining the GTM vision and strategy for the overarching Shopify Checkout product portfolio.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in product marketing, with a focus on go-to-market strategies, sales enablement, and driving product adoption
  • Strong understanding of the commerce industry, including checkout and payments solutions and online retail trends
  • Strategic thinker with a customer-centric mindset, able to identify market opportunities and develop effective go-to-market strategies
  • Experience developing content and writing engaging stories with a deep understanding of merchants and developers in the commerce space
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data, insights, and research to drive decisions and measure the impact of efforts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft impactful product messaging
  • Comfort with being a flexible, cross-functional team player in a fast-paced, often ambiguous, environment
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize efforts based on need
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Strong background in leading teams and people management

It would be a bonus if you have:

  • Experience with commerce platforms and ecosystems
  • Experience in a B2B, product-led SaaS organization
