WHO WE ARE:
We’ve come a long way from our origins as a small startup. Today, we’re a truly global fintech company, with over 3000+ people from 80 nationalities, spread across 22 offices on 4 continents. And we’re growing and diversifying faster than ever before.
WHAT WE DO:
Our card readers are used by over 4 million merchants to process payments in 36 countries. As we build a world where small businesses can be successful doing what they love, we’re continually expanding our range of products and services.
Starting with mPOS in 2012, we now help merchants connect better to their business, customers, and each other through our rich ecosystem of products and services. These include accounting, online shop and payments, SumUp card and account, P2P, loyalty programs, and business analytics—all in one place.
Our vision as a global fintech company is to build the first-ever global card acceptance brand. We rely on local, autonomous, cross-functional teams that can take an aspect of our product and perfect it from concept to execution.
About the team
Within the Payments Tribe, the Online Payments team is the backbone of our digital ecosystem. We own the technology that enables e-commerce, digital checkouts, and API-based payment journeys for our merchants.
As Senior Product Manager for Online Payments, you will drive the evolution of our online payment capabilities in close collaboration with cross-functional teams.
What you’ll do:
- Take full ownership of our Online Payments product and understand how it works end to end - from checkout to APIs to partner integrations.
- Review our current e-commerce offering, analyse competitors, and prioritise the most important feature gaps.
- Understand merchant needs and pain points (onboarding, integration, checkout) and turn them into clear product improvements.
- Work with Product Analytics to set and track KPIs, analyse performance data, and turn insights into concrete product improvements.
- Analyse regulatory and card scheme documentation, assess product impact, and drive the necessary changes to maintain compliance across our online payment flows.
- Partner with Sales, Risk, Compliance, Engineering, Payment Partnerships, and PayOps to deliver reliable and compliant solutions.
- Coordinate with acquirers, PSPs, card schemes, and 3DS providers when needed to support integrations and updates.
You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have
- 6+ years of Product Management experience, ideally in payments.
- Strong technical fluency — able to interpret API documentation and integration diagrams, and engage deeply with Engineering on architecture decisions and trade-offs.
- Solid understanding of card-not-present (CNP) payment flows, including authorisation, capture, refunds, disputes, and API-based integrations.
- Ability to read, interpret, and act on regulatory and card scheme requirements, translating complex compliance documentation into clear product and engineering changes.
- Experience working with acquirers, PSPs, card schemes, or payment processors in an e-commerce context.
- Strong stakeholder management skills - able to explain complex payment and compliance concepts to non-technical teams and build effective partnerships across a global organisation.
