Job Description

What's the Role?

As a Senior Product Manager in the buyer frequency and engagement group you will be responsible for delivering outstanding experiences that inspire buyers to return to Etsy to shop for everything from their evergreen interests to a gift for someone special. You will solve sophisticated consumer-facing problems, and develop strategies and roadmaps while working with partners to implement those plans to build sustained value for our business and our customers. You will join a dedicated team responsible for crafting experiences across our website and native apps that help over 90 million buyers engage more with Etsy over time. With millions of items offered in our one-of-a-kind marketplace of 5 million sellers around the globe, the group brings value to our buyers, sellers, and Etsy by balancing e-commerce and best retention practices with the exciting challenges posed by operating at scale.

This is a full-time position reporting to the Director of Product, Buyer Engagement and the base salary range will be 149,000 - 193,000 USD per year. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy. For this role, we are considering candidates based in the United States who are either remote, flex, or office-based. What’s this team like at Etsy?

The team focuses on engaging buyers with relevant features and inventory inspiring them to come back for more shopping missions through personalized experiences. We work side by side with our partners in engineering, design, analytics, data science and marketing to build compelling buyer experiences. This year we are working to engage in related missions to expand their understanding of the breadth of Etsy.

What does the day-to-day look like?

  • Through market and user research, explore, ideate, validate, and build products that ensure our users are inspired to return to shop on Etsy
  • Crafting a vision, define a roadmap, and prioritize product features via opportunity sizing, continuous iteration and experimentation
  • Define OKRs and track progress against them regularly, communicate plans and progress to cross-functional partners and leadership, and drive the execution and delivery of your squad's goals
  • Will work closely with outstanding designers, user researchers, data analysts, engineers, and data scientists to build an immersive and business driving experience for Etsy’s buyers both within your team and with cross functional partners such as machine learning and Marketing teams.
  • Own and define/refine the metrics of your team’s products, including impact to our business and our customers.

Qualifications

Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:

  • Experienced at defining product strategies and crafting technical products from inception to launch, especially on mobile
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with a cross-functional team, and have an interest in solving challenges in the app space
  • Be a great communicator, both in writing and orally, and a phenomenal listener. Skilled at establishing relationships with product, design, engineering and other team members, developing empathy and trust and influencing without authority.
  • Experience with using qualitative and quantitative data (especially from A/B tests) to make product decisions. You also know when and how to balance data with intuition.
  • Have proficiency in SQL/BigQuery (preferred)
  • Have experience launching native products (preferred)
  • Have experience working with data science and machine learning partners, and a basic understanding of foundational data science concepts.
