Role Overview
The Senior Product Designer is a people-manager and senior individual contributor responsible for leading high-quality product design delivery within ClearScore’s platform missions.
You’ll manage and develop a small team of Product Designers while remaining close to the work yourself. This role balances hands-on design, line management, and delivery accountability, with a strong focus on translating design intent into build-ready experiences that scale.
Working in close partnership with Product Managers, Engineers, and Platform teams, you’ll help ensure ClearScore’s experiences are clear, consistent, and expertly executed — designed not just for individual features, but for reuse, quality, confidence, and scale across teams.
What You’ll Do
1. Lead product design delivery
- Lead end-to-end design delivery across one or more squads, from Platform discovery through to launch and iteration
- Translate design intent into coherent, build-ready experiences, resolving UX, interaction, and edge-case decisions before handover
- Maintain high standards of usability, accessibility, and visual quality
- Balance speed and quality, choosing the right level of fidelity at the right time
- Design with reuse, scale, and long-term system health in mind
2. Line manage and develop designers
- Line manage a small group of Product Designers (typically IC2–IC4)
- Set clear expectations around quality, consistency, and efficient ways of working
- Coach designers on craft, judgement, and responsible use of AI tools
- Support designers in building confidence, autonomy, and sustainable habits
3. Set direction and raise the bar
- Guide design direction within your area, ensuring clarity and coherence across journeys and features
- Facilitate critiques that raise quality and shared understanding
- Role-model strong design judgement and platform-aware decision making
- Maintain quality without compromise, even under delivery pressure
4. Partner closely with engineering and product
- Work in strong partnership with Product Managers and Engineers to shape scope, sequencing, and trade-offs
- Collaborate closely with engineers to understand constraints and land feasible, scalable solutions
- Take shared accountability for outcomes, not just outputs
- Communicate design rationale clearly and influence decisions across disciplines
5. Enable others and contribute to the wider design community
- Design in ways that reduce friction, rework, and dependency for other teams
- Encourage thoughtful use of AI and automation to remove low-value work across your area
- Support effective use of design systems, DAMs, and content management systems
- Share patterns, guidance, and learnings that help teams move faster with confidence

- Knowledge and experience working with Digital Asset Management (DAM) and Content Management Systems (CMS)
- Strong judgement in applying AI tools to improve efficiency while protecting design quality and standards
Leadership & Ways of Working
- Experience line managing designers and supporting their development
- Comfortable setting expectations and influencing how work gets done
- Pragmatic, organised, and accountable for outcomes
