What’s the role?
As a Senior Product Designer on our Buying Confidence team, you will help craft the future of Etsy’s buyer experiences to help people all over the world to discover and buy unique, handcrafted items, and support makers to grow their creative businesses. Specifically, this team makes it easier to shop on Etsy by highlighting the information buyers need to make a confident purchase, investing in rich and compelling item reviews, and making it easy for buyers to shop their values in our vast marketplace.
Joining a team focused on and passionate about improving the core ecommerce experience of Etsy, we see you defining and crafting solutions that improve the experience of our customers. There will be collaboration with cross-functional product partners in engineering, research, analytics, and product management. You’ll be setting design strategy and priorities and running experiments to optimize the shopping experience. A tried and tested set of processes for solving different types of customer and business problems will be required, as well as knowing when to apply the right tool for the job.
This is a full-time position reporting to the Senior Product Design Manager. For this role, we are considering candidates based in the Mexico City region who are either remote, flex, or office-based. What’s product design like at Etsy?
Product Designers at Etsy create human-centered experiences across Etsy’s products. They collaborate with small, multidisciplinary teams with a product manager, 3-5 engineers, researcher and analyst, to empower creative people around the world to sell and buy the things they love. We accomplish this by delivering solutions to stimulating problems and get feedback directly from customers. Our process is in service of helping buyers find items to enrich their lives while supporting our sellers and their small businesses.
What does the day-to-day look like?
Discovering insights, opportunities, and requirements
Testing prototypes and hypotheses with buyers to collect feedback
Launching experiments and evaluating how they perform and next steps to iterate
Communicating and advocating for your work to peers and leadership, async and in-person
Taking part in weekly design critiques, workshops with cross functional partners, all hands and squad meetings
Thinking and writing about your process and detailing your decisions to help the rest of the design team learn from your work
