Thumbtack by the Numbers
About the Brand team
We’re a tight-knit, collaborative group on a mission to make Thumbtack famous. You’ll report to the Creative Director, while working closely with other designers, writers and communicators to develop a cohesive brand identity to be used internally and externally across multiple platforms. Champion of the brand aesthetic, you'll partner with stakeholders across Internal Communications, PR and Employer Brand to create and maintain a cohesive brand across a number of different internal and external touchpoints.
About the Comms team
Global Communications is a team of storytellers working to share the Thumbtack mission, brand, and experience across a number of different key groups: our own employees, external audiences (i.e., media, influencers, industry) and candidates. As well as across numerous platforms via a number of different methods. We help make what Thumbtack does understood by as many people as possible; whether that is around our future vision, how the product works, the benefits of using Thumbtack, our culture, engaging stories about our customers and pros, or even members of our own team.
We’re looking for a Senior Brand Designer who has a breadth of skills across design disciplines. We need someone who thrives on owning a variety of projects big and small. In this unique role, you will be part of our Brand & Creative team but embedded within our Communications function to support all visual communications needs, bringing a cohesive internal brand to life and owning it across comms channels and touchpoints. You’ll work closely with our Internal Comms, PR and Employer Brand teams to execute against an aligned strategy to elevate our visual storytelling through internal and external presentation design, engaging video campaigns, motion graphics, and more. On a typical day, you could be working directly with PR and our CPO to develop a deck for an external speaking opportunity, create a number of fun header graphics for the stories being published on TackHub (our intranet) that week, working on some product mockups for a press release, collaborating with Employer Brand to create eye-catching graphics that appeal to future candidates on LinkedIn, or putting the finishing touches on a short employee video by finding the perfect tune as the bow on top. You’re a self-starter and an outside-the-box thinker who loves the challenge of translating a brief into world-class creative and isn’t afraid to take risks and try new things.
If you don't think you meet all of the criteria below but still are interested in the job, please apply. Nobody checks every box, and we're looking for someone excited to join the team.
