To accelerate Braze's growth in Japan, we are looking for Regional Product Manager for the Japanese market. This position will play a key role in our product and growth strategy. You will mainly work with our Product team members and other cross-functional teams in Japan to ensure that our products meet customer needs are effectively utilized, and drive revenue growth. A key part of the role will be to interact with customers, partners, and internal customer facing members to understand market needs and provide feedback implementation of product feature requirements to the HQ team. 

You will also work with a wide range of technology partners and be responsible for technical validation related to working with partner solutions in Japan. The role will be responsible for leading the development of the product roadmap and feature implementation priorities to support Braze's customers in Japan. This position will report to the Director of Product Management for the Japan team.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  •  Conduct customer and market research in Japan to understand customer needs and the competitive landscape
  • Adapt product strategy to fit the nuances of the Japanese market
  • Gather ongoing feedback from Japanese customers, prospects, partner ecosystem, and internal customer facing departments to enhance product capabilities and go-to-market strategies
  • Conduct product design research, documentation, and work closely with the development team to prioritize features and enhancements that address market specific needs, and align with the overall product roadmap
  • Develop strategies for product feature positioning, messaging, etc.
  • Provide technical support for building a partner ecosystem in Japan
  • Drive localization of not only products but also supplemental assets (documentation help, etc.)

WHAT YOU HAVE:

  • At least 5 years of experience in a technical position at a foreign software company (engineer, product manager, technical consultant, sales engineering (pre-sales))
  • Must be comfortable communicating in English at meetings, etc. (as it is essential to communicate with product managers in HQ)
  • Good understanding of software and SaaS development processes and cycles
  • Experience with web (JavaScript, HTML, CSS) or similar front-end implementation
  • Experience developing applications with REST api in a cloud-based architecture
  • Communication skills to listen to the customer's use cases and requirements
  • Long-term perspective, not just short-term results
  • Ability to build cooperative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to get the job done.
  • In addition, the following skills and experience are preferred:
    • Understanding and experience with marketing technology
    • Experience with MA tools
    • Experience developing mobile apps
    • Experience with database access in SQL
