Founded in 2006 by Langley Steinert (co-founder of TripAdvisor), CarGurus is a technology company with a passion for data and its power to simplify every aspect of the car shopping experience. What You’ll Do: Perform market research and gather information to determine potential opportunities for CarGurus services. Duties include: develop strategies for new market opportunities; conduct customer research to understand unmet needs in the market; conduct competitor research to identify opportunities for differentiation; evaluate the benefit and cost/effort of each potential opportunity; coordinate with various stakeholders across the business to understand the cross-functional dependencies and impact on business objectives of each opportunity; develop a detailed plan to pursue select opportunities for development; collaborate with engineering and product teams to prioritize and develop product improvements and enhancements for the site; build new web features; assist with site infrastructure and reliability; analyze business metrics (including revenue generation, cost minimization, growth targets); and leverage data and analytics to isolate and measure the impact of site enhancements to make strategic decisions and monitor product performance against business objectives to inform future planning.

Who You Are:  Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Business Administration, Business Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field and two (2) years of experience in each of the following: Conducting customer research to identify unmet market needs; Conducting competitor research to identify opportunities for differentiation; Evaluating the benefits and cost/effort of potential business opportunities; Coordinating with various stakeholders across the business to understand the cross-functional dependencies and impact on business objectives of each opportunity;    Developing a detailed plan to pursue select opportunities for development;       Developing frameworks to break-down large and ambiguous problems into comprehendible components; Documenting and articulating analyses, key findings and proposed next steps in visual and verbal presentations for internal and external stakeholders; Building rapport and managing relationships with business partners to support day-to-day business activities as well as long-term strategic thinking and decision-making; Organizing and analyzing client data to highlight key trends and opportunities within the business; Isolating and measuring the impact of new market opportunities; and Monitoring company performance against business objectives to inform future planning.
