The Role
As a Product Manager, Privacy and Compliance, you will oversee, plan and execute a roadmap for legal compliance and privacy at TuneIn. You will ensure that privacy is carried through TuneIn’s product experiences and that the TuneIn user experience promotes transparency, ease of privacy controls, clarity in optionality, and optimized engagement with customers regarding their data and rights. You will ensure that our user experience, advertising, and subscription business align with our privacy principles.
You will work closely with multiple cross-functional partners, including legal, design, engineering, and data analytics, to help the company navigate new privacy laws, consent tools, vendors, and internal privacy processes and systems. You will build simple, flexible, and scalable frameworks that assure we meet our compliance requirements in a rapidly changing global legal landscape. You will work with our general managers and product managers to develop advertising, subscription, broadcaster, and content creator services and products that drive value while respecting privacy.
You will join a diverse team of talented product managers that cover everything from ads, to subscriptions, listener experience, content, and device distribution.
What You Will Do
- Own the product vision and execution roadmaps for new and iterative privacy and legal compliance programs and features.
- Build product alignment among key stakeholders in legal, revenue, engineering, content, marketing, finance, and data analytics.
- Launch new operational processes around privacy and data security, including Privacy by Design initiatives.
- Support the legal team with privacy-related user requests, acting as a subject matter expert on TuneIn’s privacy product portfolio.
- Collaborate with design and usability to create and improve transparency and privacy consent flows.
- Work closely with the monetization business to ensure data usage around targeting and reporting helps maximize revenue while respecting users’ privacy rights.
- Partner with engineering to guide technical plans and iterative development/validation of user stories, as the voice of detailed customer needs and motivations.
- Work with legal to understand privacy requirements, translate those privacy requirements into product and technical requirements, and work with cross-functional teams to roll out intelligent privacy solutions to those requirements.
- Track privacy product initiatives to completion. Determine how best to measure the results of product changes and ensure we have the data and analytics in place to track your customer and business impact.
- Look around corners to reduce risk and spot opportunities for innovation and scalability.
- Develop and share the company perspective on the evolving privacy landscape and how we are addressing it.
- Act as a champion for privacy across multiple cross-functional teams, including revenue, engineering, analytics, and design.
What We Are Looking For
- 3+ years of product management experience, ideally in advertising and/or subscription monetization consumer business.
- A track record of building great consumer products or the global-scale infrastructure behind them in the legal, security, privacy, trust and safety, regulatory compliance, or related fields.
- Deep customer empathy and fluency turning user insights into new product features.
- Facility with A/B testing and experimentation to grow customer and business understanding.
- Critical thinking and prioritization calls that demonstrate data-driven analysis combined with sound qualitative judgment.
- Expressive written and verbal communications with a knack for clear articulation of customer problems.
- Demonstrated experience with global privacy regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, LGPD, etc.
- Tenacity and balance in the face of competing priorities and trade-offs between goals.
- Practiced cross-functional influence to lead product change effectively.
- Knowledgeable in Agile or similar fast-iteration development process as a product owner.
- Thrives in startup culture and is able to wear multiple hats.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (more defined by functional area)
