About the Team

The In-Store team is a new team at DoorDash focused on bringing a seamless, contactless ordering experience to dine-in use cases and empowering Merchants as they run their in-store operations. Merchants care deeply about their in-store experience and think of it as their primary channel. With this in mind, The team is on a mission to empower Merchants with the technology they need to enhance their in-store experience, build trusting relationships with customers, and grow their sales.

This team sits within the broader Digital Ordering Platform Products team, which builds first-party products and services for merchants.

In-Store is a new investment area for DoorDash, and we are at a critical stage of growth. We're looking for designers who are excited to drive product strategy for new products and build zero to one experiences.

About the Role

As a Product Designer on the In-Store Enablement team, you will own the end-to-end design execution and strategy for Internal Ops and Merchant facing products that enable Merchant success in-store, including but not limited to: onboarding flows, reporting tools, internal dashboards, and more.

This role requires strong product thinking and systems thinking. Not only will you define and think through complex flows and tooling needs, you will also consider how these new surfaces and experiences tie into the DoorDash Design system and integrate into our suite of Merchant and Internal Ops facing tools as a whole.

You will report into the Design Manager for Digital Ordering, and sit within the broader Merchant Platform Team in our Product Design organization. Once our offices reopen, we expect this role to be hybrid with some time in-office and some time remote.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…

  • Own the user experience of products end-to-end, including contributing to product strategy, running design sprints, and crafting visions
  • Work cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, and other disciplines to build and ship your designs
  • Work on net new, zero to one experiences and drive strategy for new investment areas
  • Deliver and refine clear storytelling around product needs and opportunities
  • Create, collaborate, and iterate on flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals
  • Design and ship high quality product improvements

We’re excited about you because…

  • You thrive in ambiguous environments, and bring clarity to your teams through your mastery of the design process (and the occasional design sprint)
  • You are passionate about driving product strategy and vision for new product areas
  • You skilfully balance strategy, research, interaction design, and visual design to achieve simple and elegant solutions
  • You are comfortable working within complex systems and technologies
  • You value high quality well crafted visual design, and care about the details
  • You are a strong mid-level designer with 4+ years of work experience
