Grammarly offers a remote-first hybrid working model. Team members can work primarily remotely. Teams will meet in person every quarter in one of Grammarly’s hubs, currently in San Francisco, Vancouver, New York, and Kyiv. To ensure that teams are able to overlap in their working hours and to meet face-to-face when needed, all team members need to live within three time zones of their direct team.

Grammarly team members who will be collaborating at our Kyiv hub must be based in Ukraine.

The opportunity

Grammarly empowers people to thrive and connect, whenever and wherever they communicate. Every day, 30 million people and 30,000 teams around the world use our AI-powered writing assistant. All of this begins with our team collaborating in a values-driven and learning-oriented environment.

To achieve our ambitious goals, we’re looking for a seasoned Product Designer to join our Customer Support team. At Grammarly, the Design team is responsible for delivering a wide range of product and marketing initiatives, including our brand, product offerings, and research.

The Design team is also responsible for projects that directly affect business goals and metrics. The person in this role will work with Grammarly’s product managers, product designers, and developers to design features that address all of our customer-support users.

Your impact

As a Product Designer, you’ll constantly jump back and forth between research and design in order to understand user pain points and innovate on current and new features for Grammarly’s support solutions. You’ll partner with the Customer Support team, user-experience researchers, and product marketers to conduct interviews and user testing. You’ll assess, organize, and improve, working directly with Product and Engineering teams on Grammarly’s customer-support product offerings. You’ll partner with the rest of the Design team to understand how Grammarly Business features align with the rest of Grammarly’s product ecosystem and build beautiful, cohesive consumer experiences. You’ll work on a product for the Customer Support team that will help provide excellent service to our customers and maintain positive customer relations and satisfaction.

In this high-impact role, you will:

  • Lead individual products and feature directions from ideation to implementation.
  • Design for customer experiences, as well as for internal customer-support systems or tools.
  • Drive projects from zero to one and follow through with iterative improvement.
  • Collaborate with researchers to deeply understand our users’ needs and drive user empathy and advocacy on the Grammarly Customer Support team.
  • Create user flows and personas for customer-support users interacting with Grammarly features.
  • Partner with developers to bring world-class user interfaces to life.
  • Partner with and support the Brand, Marketing, and Product Design teams in developing customer-support features and communicating their implications across our holistic product experience.
  • Collaborate with designers across teams to curate and put into use new interaction patterns and aesthetics.
  • Collaborate with product managers to create and develop features and their success metrics.
  • Collaborate with Design and Product team leadership to define Grammarly’s accessibility standards.
  • Scale features across a variety of audiences, abilities, devices, and platforms.
  • Specify and maintain our core principles in visual style, typography, spacing, motion, and interaction models.
  • Assess consistency and coherence across Grammarly’s product offerings and design system.

We’re looking for someone who

  • Embodies our EAGER values—is ethical, adaptable, gritty, empathetic, and remarkable.
  • Has a minimum 3–5 years as a Product Designer.
  • Has a deep understanding of high-efficiency, high-output centralized design partnerships.
  • Has a deep understanding of multidisciplinary design processes and toolkits across product design, brand and marketing design, and user-experience research.
  • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills and uses them to effectively roll out large-scale programs.
  • Is relentlessly focused on our customers’ needs and wants.
  • Is proactive in seeking and providing opportunities to improve and expand the product.

We also take time to celebrate our colleagues and accomplishments with global, local, and team-specific events and programs.
  • Comprehensive benefits: Grammarly offers all team members competitive pay along with a benefits package encompassing superior health care (including mental health benefits). We also offer support to set up a home office, ample and defined time off, gym and recreation stipends, and more.
  • Relocation support: We can help you relocate to Kyiv and make the experience smooth and easy. Grammarly provides a relocation bonus, legal and visa support, temporary housing, moving support and travel expenses, assistance in finding schools for your kids—and all other information you might need.
