User Experience at Wealthsimple:
We're a close-knit UX team made up of Product and Content Designers. Product Designers are embedded on product teams so that we can be involved with projects from the get-go and work really closely with other disciplines at every stage of the process. Content Designers are critical enablers and the champions for our product content standards, ensuring we communicate simply across our product portfolio. We work purposefully and think big when it comes to our growth as a team and individuals. It's important to us that we have a collaborative and supportive environment to work in every day. Our empathy for our users sets the bar really high for the products and experiences we create.
This person is someone we can count on to:
- Bring clarity and humanity to confusing and intimidating financial language
- Execute consistent impact in their craft delivering exceptional writing alongside thoughtful content strategy and design
- Work quickly and decisively across multiple contexts

- Bring demonstrated experience developing and evolving content standards and guidelines
- Lead and shape our org-wide content operations and practices
- Integrate product content best practices and guidelines into our design system, and allow us to communicate better at scale
- Work with the Brand team to establish holistic content guidelines
- Motivated and interested in personal finance and investing, and is excited to help introduce these ideas to others
- Value sharing their craft with others and actively seeks opportunities to mentor others
Within 3 months you’ll:
- Complete our company-wide onboarding program where you’ll meet and learn about all areas of our business
- Get to know the Unified Experience team and build relationships with your design, engineering, and product partners
- Learn our UX process by pairing with and shadowing other members of the UX team
- Dive into project work exploring new features and employing skills like IA, content modeling, and more
- Lead our Content Office Hours, and help consult on content and communication challenges across our R&D team
- Partner with our Branding and Editorial teams to develop a consistent tone of voice across both our in- and out-of-product experiences
- Support your team in presenting their work to stakeholders and collaborators
Within 6 months you’ll:
- Build a foundation and understanding of our entire product portfolio your product area; beginning to generate informed opinions around areas of growth for our product
- Iterate and grow our Content Design resources to better equip our Product Designers to partner with you in authoring content and micro-copy
- Integrate content releases into the design system (at the component and system level)
- Collaborate closely with both our Product and Engineering disciplines in order to create solutions that are scoped and future-proof
- Have a strong understanding of our users’ needs, as well as the business goals for your product area
Within 12 months you’ll:
- Take initiative by bringing ideas and concepts to the leadership team
- Seek out areas of opportunity in craft, workflow, and operations, implementing smart solutions that scale to the whole UX team
- Lead internal presentations and effectively disseminate learnings
- Create opportunities to translate your expertise into training for others on the team
- Contribute to our growing content design practice with mentorship, team artifacts, and process improvements
