The Junior Visual Designer is an integral part of our creative team, entrusted with producing dynamic visuals under the mentorship of the Senior Visual Designer. This role is tailored for an individual who possesses a foundational understanding of design principles and is eager to advance their skills in a nurturing, professional setting.
Key Responsibilities
Design Execution:
Collaborate with the Senior Visual Designer to produce graphics for digital channels, including websites, social media, emails, and ads, ensuring alignment with the brand's vision.
Assist in developing print materials such as brochures, posters, and event collateral, adapting to different mediums effectively.
Ensure design outputs remain consistent with brand guidelines, paying attention to details and maintaining quality across all designs.
Mentorship and Learning:
Engage actively in skill development sessions with the Senior Visual Designer, adopting new techniques and design practices.
Participate in design critiques, absorbing feedback positively, and iterating based on insights and suggestions.
Seek guidance when faced with design challenges, showcasing a willingness to learn and adapt.
Collaboration and Contribution:
Contribute to brainstorming sessions, offering fresh perspectives and ideas.
Collaborate with different departments to understand their design needs and deliver accordingly, under the guidance of the Senior Visual Designer.
Share insights and learnings with the team, fostering an environment of mutual growth.
Asset Management and Organization:
Assist in maintaining an organised digital asset library, ensuring that resources are current and easily accessible.
Stay updated with the latest design trends and tools, suggesting potential inclusions to the team's toolkit.
By working under the supervision of the Head of Brand and mentored by the Senior Visual Designer, the Junior Visual Designer will not only hone their skills but also contribute meaningfully to the brand's visual narrative, ensuring coherence and visual excellence.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in graphics, print and motion design.
Tool Proficiency: Figma, as well as the Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and AfterEffects.
Portfolio showcase demonstrating a wide range of design work, including web, mobile, and print projects.
Knowledge of web design and development, including responsive design principles and HTML/CSS, is a plus.
AI design skills and experience with AI-powered design tools (such as MidJourney) is a plus.
Creative thinking: Ability to think creatively and generate innovative design solutions to effectively convey messages and ideas.
Effective communication: Strong communication skills are essential for collaborating with cross-functional teams, presenting design concepts, and incorporating feedback from stakeholders.
