Junior Marketing Designer (12 Months Contract)

Location: on-site in Berlin

Our designers at SumUp are creative thinkers and doers, who develop ideas and bring them to life. We are a growing team split into three departments - Brand / Marketing Design, Product Design and UX Research.

As a passionate visual storyteller, you will craft visually compelling content through design. Your expertise adds accents, giving the brand an authentic voice. You will focus on creating visual marketing design for our marketing touch points, visuals for our blog content, emails for our user journey and social media campaigns. 

In this role, you’ll join our Marketing Design Team who create engaging and compelling content making sure that our visual language stays consistent across all the channels to ensure that SumUp is the first choice for small businesses. Together, we devise innovative strategies to market SumUp’s products, grow the brand, attract new customers, and keep existing merchants excited about our products. 

What you’ll do

• Collaborate with other designers and cross-functional teams including copywriters, marketers, and product managers to develop cohesive and integrated marketing campaigns and creative ideas
• Develop and execute creative ideas for marketing campaigns, ensuring they align with the brand's vision and target audience
• Execute design for print and digital media that supports brand awareness, engagement, and conversion.
• Design graphics for various projects, including product-focused visuals for social media, advertising campaigns, events, testimonials, and educational materials
• Ensure consistency in brand identity and visual language across all channels
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in design and marketing

You’ll be great for this role if you have

• 1-2 years experience in creating graphics for marketing channels, social media, and other digital platforms.
• Demonstrated experience of artworking a broad range of output, developing designs from an approved concept into a series of final assets.
• Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Adobe CC, Figma and other design tools.
• Strong understanding of typography, layout, color theory, and other design principles.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.

Nice-to-have

• A degree or diploma in graphic design, visual communication or a related field.
• Knowledge of different types of production and materials, in order to liaise with our in-house team and external production.
• Previous exposure to art direction including retouching techniques, photography and print production.
• Basic knowledge of motion design is a great bonus.
