We believe in 7-star customer service, and therefore we need to understand our users, all of them. UX Research plays a central role in our product development cycle.

The Role:

As a UX Research Manager, you will be leading the research function at TravelPerk, owning the responsibility of scaling and taking the team to new frontiers.

In this role, you’ll take the time to understand not just the execution side of UX Research, but also the business aspects of the products we build. You’ll collaborate with leaders of UX, Engineering, and Product Management teams to create innovative experiences across our platforms, leveraging your passion for the craft, and design quality.

The customer experience surface area for TravelPerk is extensive, and we need experienced research leadership to demonstrate the depth of impact quality, creativity, and original research can have on complex customer scenarios.

Our team has a research operations team which makes sure you have the right tools to do your job and easy access to participants.

This role will be reporting to the Product Design Director and will be part of the Design Leadership team, shaping how we scale and improve while we grow in size.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead a research team, being responsible for their personal and professional development.
  • Serve as a thought leader and help grow and elevate the practice of User Research. Inspire and inform design, prototyping and development, through insights from primary customer research which will be a mix of quantitative, qualitative and methods yet to be invented!
  • Own the hiring process for UX Research, with the challenge of recruiting and hiring UX research as we scale.
  • Get your hands on and lead specific strategic research projects.
  • Drive efforts to democratize research and enable designers and product managers to do research on their own.
  • Effectively devise mechanisms to translate data and insights into strategy and design direction.
  • Develop partnerships with Product Managers across the organisation to prioritise initiatives and allocate research efforts to key strategic projects

What you’ll need:

  • Experienced UX Research manager that has already scaled a team.
    • Strong experience of leading UX research teams
    • Experience working for in-house research teams within a growing product org.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Experimental Psychology, Anthropology, Information Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Someone that can both operate as a manager and hands-on
  • Solid awareness of how to drive impact through research
  • Confident communication of complex concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization
