Shopify’s Growth team is focused on delivering the right product, to the right merchant, at the right time. In your role, you will build the structure that helps our global RnD teams to deliver aligned, fast and at scale. You will support the scaling of our product portfolio by leveling up our systems, processes, and tools. You’ll get to do things like:

  • Providing visibility into what product teams are working on, timelines, and risks so leadership, key stakeholders and the rest of Shopify know what’s shipping, by when, and for whom

  • Develop robust practices to accelerate global growth teams, projects and decisions

  • Build the tools, practices and workflows to accelerate teams and improve collaboration 

  • Work with Engineering, Data and Growth teams to define objectives, ship projects and measure success

  • Develop a deep understanding of how teams work and what’s in their way including solving bottlenecks, streamline communication, and help us focus and move faster towards making entrepreneurs successful

  • Support roadmapping, resourcing and investment planning decisions for the team

  • Ensuring the right people are involved in the right projects at the right time

  • Building a culture of transparency, where we share issues openly and celebrate successes together. It’s important to share learnings as much as we share wins.

  • Identify and manage risks, roadblocks and dependencies as they arise. You’ll be able to identify risks across dozens of projects without being deeply involved in any

  • Contributing expertise to refine the product operations craft and grow its impact

  • Collaborating with frontline teams, Data, Analysis and Research to disseminate insights leading to data-informed product development

Qualifications

  • The ability to create order out of chaos by asking tough questions, producing actionable insights and making recommendations to senior leadership that are appropriate for a given context

  • Experience working in operations, process improvement and/or program management

  • An ability to develop and iterate on minimum viable processes, and influence team behaviours to facilitate collaboration at scale without compromising on speed, trust, and flexibility

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels

  • A natural talent for communication and driving behaviour via indirect leadership

  • Built empathy and high trust relationships across teams

  • A combination of technical and business acumen preferably gained in a tech environment to help teams make decisions

  • Product Management Life cycle experience while working with technical and non-technical teams (Engineering, UX, Data, Support, Finance, external vendors, etc)

  • Ability to be self driven, proactive and able to navigate through ambiguity and complexity

  • A can-do attitude; no task will be too small or big for you

  • An excitement about being hands on, able to roll up their sleeves and get things done, while thinking in systems

It'd be great if you also had:

  • Experience working in the tech space, consultancy or another high-pace industry - it’s important to understand our platform and the products we deliver

  • Bring experience with product management, engineering or go-to-market 

  • Experience in a Growth organization is a plus
