At Pave, our vision is simple - Make Compensation Fair.
How are we going to get there? By building the most intelligent compensation platform, powered by the largest real-time compensation dataset on earth.
We partner with our customers to help them build and retain world-class teams through planning, communicating and benchmarking their team’s compensation in real time. And you don’t have to just hear it from us — you can hear it from our customers: Allbirds, Hover, Sweetgreen, Airtable and more.
We’re growing fast, building an incredible team and product, and having plenty of fun as we do it in our San Francisco and New York City offices.
If stretching the rubber band, building with intellectual honesty and focusing on impact sounds exciting - we highly encourage you to reach out. We’d love to partner on our journey to change the world of compensation!
We are looking for a Senior Product Marketing Manager (PMM) to join Pave as one of the founding members of the marketing team. Pave Marketers are passionate about solving customer pain points, telling great stories, and driving revenue for the business. As our Senior PMM, you’ll be at the intersection of all three in building foundational product marketing workstreams (all of the classics; see below), enabling our revenue team to win deals, and establishing go-to-market launch excellence at Pave.
You’ll report directly to the VP of Marketing, and will help grow and shape Pave’s marketing department.
Build (product) marketing foundations, including messaging and positioning frameworks, the ideal customer profiles (ICP), buyer personas, and packaging philosophy.
Partner closely with product and revenue teams to launch several new products and features in the market; define the GTM launch process and success metrics.
Enable our revenue team to win deals in commercial, mid-market, and enterprise segments with thoughtful pitch materials, one-pagers, product and persona training, and direct deal support.
Bring market insights—from customer-facing teams, the competition, market research—into our product development process.
Develop a sharp perspective on how we develop new products or drive engagement with existing ones in order to increase revenue.
Be a voice of the customer and a voice of the market. Always.
Experience working with revenue teams on enablement assets, training, and gathering customer feedback.
Proven track record of working with product teams to influence product strategy and own the go-to-market process for new product launches.
Excellent storytelling abilities. You have strong communication skills—both written and verbal. You have the ability to distill complex ideas into simple, crisp words.
Data-oriented. You like working with data and insights and pair that with your passion for customers to inform your points of view for how to take our product to market.
Self-starter; you spot opportunities to make things better and take ownership over them.
Track record of driving projects to completion by collaborating across teams. You can effectively partner with engineering, product, design, sales, customer success, and marketing teammates.
Experience building the foundation of product marketing, messaging, and positioning for a brand that has incredible traction and customer love.
Opportunity to grow and lead a team for the right profile.
Further an incredibly important vision to make compensation fair.
A lot of learning, and a lot of fun!
A final note — we highly encourage you to apply for this role, even if you don’t feel entirely qualified, or entirely sure. You never know!
Pave’s compensation philosophy is to target the 75th percentile of the market for both cash and equity at your job level. This means that the “mid point” of every band at Pave is the 75th percentile of the broader market.
Pave also has a merit-based philosophy when it comes to compensation increases. We run a performance cycle twice per year to evaluate employees’ performance. Higher than average performance ratings result in compensation increases to the upper end of the individual’s compensation range for their role. The result is that high performers at Pave are paid above the 75th percentile of the market at large.
Pave is committed to pay equity. If you get an offer from Pave, it will be based on your level as determined by your interview performance. And nothing else. We explicitly do not negotiate salary and equity to ensure that we aren’t introducing bias that could lead to pay inequities within the team between candidates who have different negotiation tactics.
