About Mynd:

Mynd is a tech-enabled real estate company serving the $85B+ property management and real estate investment market. In the past few years, consumers have gained access to free stock trades, greater transparency in the mortgage market, and apps that make managing their money more convenient. Yet real estate investment, the most powerful tool for building generational wealth, has largely been the purview of wealthier individuals and professional money managers.

Mynd is determined to overhaul that paradigm.

At Mynd, we’re on a mission to democratize access to happy homes and sustainable investments by making the purchase of single-family residential real estate as effortless as other types of investments. Investing in real estate can be intimidating, especially for first-time buyers. Moreover, many potential investors don’t want to buy real estate in their geographic area, or have been priced out of competitive big city housing markets.

With operations in 25 markets across the U.S. and real-time insights via our platform, we remove the time, communication, and geographic barriers traditionally associated with buying real estate. Investors can now find, purchase, lease, manage, and sell single-family rental properties 100 percent remotely.

Mynd is Best Places to Work certified, a Built In SF Best Places to Work 2022 winner, and was named the #1 fastest-growing East Bay company by the San Francisco Business Times in 2021. We’ve attracted talent from Starwood Waypoint Homes, The New York Times, McKinsey, BCG, Compass, Better, One Medical, Zillow, Upwork, WeWork, and Facebook. We’re backed by top VCs, including Lightspeed, Canaan, Jackson Square, and QED, and recently announced a $5 billion deal with Invesco Real Estate that will make us the largest buyer of single-family rental homes in the country.

About the Role:

Mynd is looking for a highly empathetic and cross-functional Sr. Product Manager who cares deeply about user experience, investing, and building a ubiquitous investor brand.  Your mission is to develop a best-in-class investor experience and drive engagement by building the next generation of Mynd’s investor app (desktop and mobile).

The investor app (desktop and mobile) is Mynd’s primary way of interacting with and delighting our most important customers - investors.  Mynd needs a Sr. Product Manager who obsesses over customers and gets excited about leading research studies and defining complex UX.  This role touches almost every part of our business and is a highly visible leadership position in the company.

Our ideal Senior Product Manager has led multiple new (0-1) consumer grade product initiatives impacting tens of thousands of users.  To be successful, you must be customer-obsessed, have excellent product and design sense, strong communication skills, and be able to constantly shift between strategy and day-to-day tactics.  You are highly analytical with a keen ability to tease out insights (customer and technical) and validate assumptions through qualitative and quantitative research.

Here are some specific problems you can expect to solve. If these get you excited then you should apply!

  • Develop a vision and strategy for the product that enables tens of thousands of investors to manage and grow a portfolio of real estate assets (i.e. properties)
  • Develop a world-class mobile experience for our investors that enables investors to make decisions and execute transactions from anywhere
  • Investing in and managing real estate assets can be complex and overwhelming for investors.  How do we make this simple, easy, and fun?
  • Building trust with investors is absolutely critical.  How do we maximize investor confidence in Mynd as a partner?
  • How do we communicate and educate investors without overwhelming them?
  • How do we drive adoption to our investor app so every customer can self-service?
  • The services we offer to investors span the entire real estate spectrum - buying, financial services, renovations, property management, and selling. How do we present these to existing investors in a compelling way that actually improves the user experience (vs. degrading it)?
  • How do we proactively identify investor needs and opportunities?

Responsibilities:

  • Be the voice of our Investors
  • Own the product vision, strategy, roadmap, and execution for the investor portal (desktop and mobile)
  • Be a leader and push the vision of your product within the company
  • Lead a cross-functional team of designers, engineers, and data science resources to build and ship impactful products and features
  • Exhibit sound product judgment and present clear measurable objectives that will lead to achieving goals
  • Perform market research and work directly with investors to identify product opportunities inline with business objectives
  • Own your area’s metrics end-to-end, proactively identify issues and opportunities, and surface learnings to drive unit economics and growth
  • Translate and prioritize business/customer feedback into engineering requirements and execute on those requirements
  • Test new development to validate requirement delivery
  • Champion your products in-house and drive adoption with training and continued support
  • Potential to manage an APM

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 5+ years experience building software as a Product Manager or equivalent
  • 2+ years experience within PropTech, FinTech, Real Estate (startup preferred)
  • Demonstrated success independently shipping multiple (min. 2) impactful, consumer facing products based on research
  • Demonstrated success shipping multiple (min. 2) native mobile experiences
  • Strong consumer UI/UX skills and experience (examples to share preferred)
  • Strong interpersonal skills; you will need to develop strong relationships with business partners, engineering, design, and other cross functional teams.
  • Technical background working with engineering and data scientists
  • Confidence in professional aptitude and ability to effectively convey skills and knowledge to non-technical stakeholders and external customers
  • Demonstrated success in a high-growth, operationally intense environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to influence cross-functional team

Being authorized to work in the U.S. is a precondition of employment and we are unable to sponsor H1-B Visas at this time.

Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation.
