Senior Product Designer, Fulfillment

What’s the role?

The Fulfillment team is helping Etsy sellers meet customers’ expectations for all things shipping. As we continue to expand Etsy in new parts of the world and provide the tools and services for our sellers to ship items across the globe, fulfillment has become a foundational part of our experience, one that nurtures customer loyalty by delivering on the promise of receiving that special item!

Senior Product Designers contribute across the team by generating new ways to solve for fulfillment challenges. This means iterating on and delivering design solutions that address our buyer and seller’s needs as they align to goals set by your team. We’re looking for someone who has experience applying research findings and A/B experiment results to inform their design decisions.

This is a full-time position reporting to the Sr. Manager, Product Design. This role requires your presence in Etsy’s Mexico City office in an in-person or flex capacity. Learn more about our Flex and Office-based work modes as well as vaccination policy here.

What’s product design like at Etsy?

Typically, product designers at Etsy work in a squad with a product manager, 4-6 engineers, researcher and analyst. Together they drive their own part of Etsy, deliver solutions to challenging problems and get feedback directly from customers. 

What does the day-to-day look like?

• Discovering insights, opportunities, and requirements

• Testing prototypes and hypotheses with users to collect feedback

• Launching experiments and evaluating how they perform and how to iterate

• Presenting your work to peers and leadership, async and in-person

• Taking part in weekly design critiques, workshops, all hands and squad meetings

• Thinking and writing about your process and documenting your decisions 

• Of course, this is just a sample of the kinds of work this role will require! You should assume that your role will encompass other tasks, too, and that your job duties and responsibilities may change from time to time at Etsy's discretion, or otherwise applicable with local law.

Senior level at Etsy means:

• Working independently but seek mentorship and feedback from your manager and more senior designers

• Contributing as a partner to strategy and design direction

• Using research and data to inform your design solutions

• Sketching, prototype, and create high fidelity artifacts for the team, using your judgment to determine the best formats and fidelities for your work

• Using our design system proficiently and consistently

• Shipping good work, balancing pragmatism and quality

Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:

• 4+ years of professional experience working in product design across native app and web (although you might have had a different job title, like “UX Designer” or “Experience Designer”)

• Business level ability in English

• Translation of quantitative & qualitative insights into design decisions

• Effective articulation of ideas and design solutions

• Expressing feedback with kindness and candor

• Tolerance for ambiguity and healthy curiosity

• Contribution to our culture: motivation, optimism, quality, integrity
