Job Overview:

The Design & Research teams play a vital role in Coursera’s success. These teams are responsible for gathering learner & partner insights and translating them into recommendations that help Coursera achieve a seamless experience across its platform. These teams are divided down into three main areas: Growth & Discovery, Learner & Educator Experience, & Enterprise.

The experience of learning and transformation is inherently challenging. Your work as a content designer will be to create simplicity from complexity and influence everything from the most micro-interaction to full-enterprise learning programs with thousands of employee learners. Our goals are monumental and we need extraordinary content designers to realize them.

REQUIRED: Portfolio featuring examples of content design  case studies and any examples of content design for growth is highly valuable (please link a personal website or portfolio).

Responsibilities:

  • Be an active member of the design org, evangelizing the potential of design thinking and raising the bar for the quality of content design. This role is part of the broader Design and Research org led by the VP, Design & Research reporting into the CPO. 
  • Balance prioritization and delivery across multiple projects in a strategic design lead capacity
  • Set and communicate priorities and appropriately explain business rationale
  •  Lead voice and tone through example, training, and reviews
  • Push and evolve content frameworks and patterns based on brand guidelines
  • Actively build and maintain relationships with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5 - 7  years of content design experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with tools using Figma, Miro
  • Understanding of information architecture, taxonomy, interaction design principles
  • Value prop, messaging validation via A/B testing 
  • Guidelines and standards development
  • Deep understanding of interaction design principles for web, mobile web, email
