We're looking for a Billing Operations Specialist to join the Product Operations team at Zapier. Zapier’s on a mission to make everyone more productive at work. As a Billing Operations Specialist you will become our internal Subject Matter Expert for all our customer facing billing processes, mastering comprehensive knowledge of our cross-functional workstream, measures of success and shared goals. You will be empowered to share thought leadership and recommendations aimed at optimizing our billing operations, while also being in charge of driving tactical improvements to our day-to-day billing activities, service level and policies.

About You

  • You love collaboration and feedback. You promote change through empathetic listening and relationship building.

  • You’re a systems-thinker with strong organizational skills, a preference for details, and a skilled written communicator.

  • You excel at operations and have experience delivering on an operations strategy.

  • You can work in a new and ambiguous space.

  • Interest in Billing/Finance. You may or may not have previous experience in financial industry , but you are excited by the rapidly evolving world of payment and billing technology.

Things You’ll Do

  • You will act as our Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all customer-facing billing processes, developing a deep understanding of pain points, measures of success, priorities and goals of all parties involved within a given workstream.

  • You will be responsible for auditing, diagramming and keeping up-to-date documentation of our end-to-end billing processes across multiple teams.

  • You will work closely, share insights and make recommendations to the Build Org to prioritize process optimization features while balancing ROI and diminishing returns.

  • You will collaborate with our External Payment Provider (Stripe/Braintree) to continuously keep our billing operations and processes up-to-date with technology and emerging regulations.

  • You will moderate the escalation channels for customer-facing billing issues, either leading to the initial problem-solving or determining the appropriate person to escalate the issue with.

  • You will become fluent in billing and related customer success metrics and will influence change using data, narrative, and visuals.

  • Travel of 5% - 10% for Zapier retreats that rotate to various cities throughout North America.
