At Propel, our mission is to build modern, respectful, and effective financial tools for Americans with limited income. Over 5 million people use our app Providers, previously called Fresh EBT, to manage the benefits that keep their family well-fed and healthy, stay up to date on critical government programs, save money and earn income. Read more about the impact of the Providers app here, here, and here. Now we’re expanding further into the financial services space by building a new financial product that will offer the best banking option for low-income Americans.
As the Product Ops Associate on the Product team, you’ll play an instrumental role in helping us deliver on our vision to build a mobile banking product that gets our users more dollars, certainty, and time by improving the efficiency of all of our Product efforts. You’ll do this by building the tools, processes, and infrastructure to enable us to easily collect and understand user feedback, as well as monitor and maintain product performance. You’ll work with our Product, Ops, Data, Engineering, Design, and Program management teams to do this work, in addition to leading your own high-value cross-functional special projects (.e.g sending millions of dollars to users affected by hurricanes).
Propel is a for-profit software company that holds its social mission at its core. Our investors include Andreessen Horowitz, the Omidyar Network, Kevin Durant, Serena Williams, and Nas.

We offer:
- An immediate opportunity to make an impact.
- A get-stuff-done and fun and caring culture.
- Meaningful work and a strong shared sense of mission.
- A remote first working environment with an HQ in Brooklyn, an office in Salt Lake City, and satellite offices in San Francisco + Los Angeles. Team meets quarterly in-person for optional retreats and on-sites.
- 20 Days of PTO.
- $10k lifetime spend towards Carrot Fertility.
- Excellent Medical, Dental and Vision options.

Additionally, pay is not determined based on location. The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $100,000 depending on experience.
What you’ll do:
- Build the processes and tools to allow the Product team (including you!) to handle incidents, outages, and bugs that come up in our mobile banking product.
- Dig into the data on core product performance and user feedback to inform our prioritization of work across incidents and high-value, smaller scale projects.
- Coordinate across functions to improve our collective understanding of product performance and customer feedback in order to better serve our users.
- Take on high-value, cross-functional special projects to validate new product ideas in their early stages of development with the support of a PM (e.g. send millions of dollars through our mobile banking app to users affected by hurricanes).
- And much more : )
What you have:
- 2-3 years of work experience in a role that included cross-functional project management in a fast-paced environment.
- A passion for problem-solving and a bias for action.
- Comfort learning and navigating new technologies, and specifically: jumping into the numbers or code yourself. It's okay if you don’t know SQL just yet, but this will be a skill you’ll learn and use regularly in this job.
- The ability to bring order to chaos. You are organized and - more importantly - always looking for opportunities to improve processes and systems.
- An ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
