TIER is at the forefront of the sustainable transport revolution in one of the fastest growing industries. We’d love for you to join the ride.
Are you passionate about urban mobility and how consumers move in cities? Are you eager to define which technologies can challenge the status quo to bring better and more sustainable mobility experiences to urban dwellers? Then this is the job for you!
As Product Manager Hardware at TIER, you will be working in our cross-functional “Hardware Swarm” to deliver best-in-class hardware to our global community of over 7 million riders and more than 500 cities. Your main role is to own, develop and drive the roadmap and P&L of your hardware programs and products - by understanding, translating and optimizing for the needs of our strategic stakeholders (consumers, cities, company). This is an extremely high-impact role that will affect the day-to-day mobility of millions of people!
TIER has become much more than an e-scooter company! We have added further modalities (e.g. e-bikes), developed strategic platforms (e.g. battery), acquired other mobility companies (e.g. nextbike, SPIN) and now offer a broad and expanding portfolio of micro-mobility services. As a result, we now need to handle the roadmap for batteries, charging devices (e.g. our PowerBoxes), parking infrastructure, e-scooters, e-bikes, mechanical pedal bikes, e-mopeds, IoT platforms, and many more products.
Your main areas of responsibilities will be:
TIER believes in a cross-functional Hardware “Swarm” - consisting of three Hardware functions ‘Product Management’, ‘Hardware Engineering’ and ‘Vehicle Development’ (similar to Hardware Operations) - that jointly works together over the entire lifecycle of a product and shares responsibility. Depending on the current development phase of a product, one function assumes the leadership role. Hence, on the one hand, you will be working very closely with your hardware “delivery” counterpart, either our Hardware Engineering team (for products we “make” using our own engineering designs) or our Vehicle Development team (for products we “buy” and adapt from global markets). On the other hand, you will be working very closely with the business stakeholders as well, as you bridge the two worlds.
The ‘Hardware Product Management’ team plays a highly significant role to define ‘WHAT’ we do with regards to hardware. We are building up a nimble team of high-caliber profiles working across a wide product portfolio. We use our analytical skills combined with a pinch of curiosity and creativity and fun! This role will report directly into our Director of Product Management for Hardware, who again reports directly into our CTO; it is full-time and permanent.
We actively encourage a diverse and inclusive environment that fosters each employee’s individuality at TIER. We take affirmative action to ensure equal opportunity for your application, regardless to your nationality, ethnic or national origin, skin color, religion, disability, sex, sexual orientation or gender identity. Come as you are and join our ride!
In case you are living with disabilities, chronic illness or neurodiversity please inform us, to provide you with the proper assistance in the application process.
If we could spark your interest and you want to change mobility for good with us, apply now and let us know why you’re the one for the job! We encourage everyone to apply and grow with us. Even if you may not tick all the boxes of the requirements, we are happy to hear about the value you can add to the team. We are all learners!
