Forbes is currently seeking a smart, curious and motivated Product Manager to join the Product Development team.  This role will report to the Executive Director of Product Development, Platform and will be responsible for discovery and definition of features that drive towards strategic goals for content management and core function of Bertie, our flagship publishing platform.  In collaboration with editorial and business teams, you will build a product roadmap focused on support and innovation of Bertie.  You will work closely with staff writers, contributors and creators, gathering feedback regularly to build tools optimized to support a world-class newsroom.

What You'll Do:

  • Build and drive the product roadmap for content management and core function of our publishing platform, in accordance with our overall product vision and goals. 
  • Lead product discovery process by establishing a deep understanding of user problems and business requirements, and defining impactful product solutions based on: data analysis, user research, technical exploration, experimentation and assumption validation.
  • In partnership with design, define and document user personas and customer journeys for users of Bertie.
  • Collaborate with product development teams and key stakeholders to enable effective prioritization and delivery of features.
  • Define product KPIs, actively measure and analyze user data to identify product opportunities and improvements.
  • Communicate effectively and consistently with editorial, product design, business and engineering teams and maintain strong relationships and alignment with relevant stakeholders.
  • Keep abreast of the competitive landscape, industry trends, and innovation within the digital publishing and content creation space.

What You'll Bring:

  • 3-5 years of product management experience, specific focus on publishing tools, content promotion and discovery a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Balance of technical knowledge and business acumen. Digital publishing and/or content management experience is a PLUS.
  • Experience translating strategy and research into a clear vision and roadmap for delivery.
  • A working understanding of current front and back-end web technologies
  • Working experience with analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Looker, etc. and with leveraging analytical inputs to create well-rounded and sustainable solutions
  • Proactive, self-starter with excellent project management skills and ability to manage multiple work streams effectively
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage, influence, and inspire partners and stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment; Also, equally comfortable going deep into both technical huddles with engineers and strategic discussions with executives
  • High degree of organization, individual initiative, and personal accountability
  • Great team player with a positive, strategic approach to problem solving and to respectfully building relationships within the team and across the company
  • Navigates ambiguity well and thrives in an intrapreneurial environment

The annual base salary range for this role is $100,000 - $125,000
