At Doist, our mission is to inspire the workplace of the future by creating simple yet powerful productivity tools that promote a more fulfilling way to work and live.

We're a multidisciplinary, fully remote team of 90+ people who are passionate about creating products, like Todoist and Twist, that improve people’s lives. We thrive on innovating new solutions to old productivity challenges and we seek to rethink how productivity tools are made.

Our Core Values

They are few, but they are mighty. From creating processes to decision-making and recruiting, we build our five core values into nearly every single thing we do.

  • Independence. Others can trust that you’ll deliver on time and your teammates don’t need to worry about you keeping your word.
  • Mastery. You love what you do and care deeply about the quality of your work, down to the smallest details. You’re continuously learning and pushing yourself to the limits of your ability. You're never satisfied with the status quo.
  • Communication. Your communication is clear, concise, and engaging whether you're explaining a complex idea or providing feedback to a teammate.
  • Ambition & Balance. You aspire to put a dent in the universe. To do this, you set high standards for yourself and those around you. The time you spend on work isn’t measured by quantity, but by quality.
  • Impact. You're able to take a bird's eye view to pinpoint and then solve issues that have a high impact on our customers, our team, and our company. You're committed to the health and success of both your teammates and Doist as a company.

We invite you to visit our blog to learn more about us, our values, and how we work.

How we work

In the past, Doist's product organization was composed of team heads with a talent and passion for product work. This product committee managed the entire product development process, from product vision to strategy to execution.

Although this setup worked wonderfully for many years and allowed everyone in the company to sharpen their product sense, it also became evident that this wasn't sufficient to evolve our tools further. We have since formed a dedicated product team consisting of a Head of Product and one Product Manager. We are now excited to expand our team's capabilities by adding an additional Product Manager to our team.

Product is a team sport for us, and as such, we aim for a pragmatic PM-guided culture to create products customers love and work for the business. Having started this team just six months ago, you will not only get to work on our great products, but you will also influence and shape the way products are built at Doist.

Day-to-day work

As a product manager at Doist, you will be responsible for the ideation, creation, and optimization of impactful products. You'll lead and support cross-functional teams, leverage relevant market insights, and inspire with compelling visions and actionable goals.

Your day-to-day will typically involve collaborating with designers and engineers to identify customer problems and collaboratively develop delightful solutions. You will also frequently work with marketing, finance, support, and other functions to ensure a great end-2-end experience for users. Together with your product management team, you will shape the roadmap based on company goals, qualitative and quantitative customer insights, technical capabilities, and a healthy dose of intuition.

What you can expect to do on a regular basis:

  • Lead and support the cross-functional squads to deliver outstanding outcomes
  • Prioritize high-value work, coordinate activities, and communicate goals within the squads and relevant stakeholders
  • Identify relevant customer opportunities by researching customers, the market, and industry trends
  • Facilitate the creation of compelling solutions by leveraging product intuition, customer-generated insights, and the cross-functional team's expertise
  • Infuse product decisions from core product metrics, such as activation, retention, and monetization
  • Drive the short- to mid-term direction of our products, and help to communicate it internally
  • Report to the Head of Product and support building a talented product management team

Is everything perfect? No. We are working on shortening the customer feedback loop, increasing decision-making speed, and finding the right mix of quantitative and qualitative data. If this sounds like fun and a great learning opportunity, it’s because it is. With your talent, passion, and desire to help millions of users, we will build the future of work together. ?

About you

It's important to us that the person we hire will thrive in this role. Here are the core knowledge, skills, and abilities that will set you up for success:

  • You love building tools that make the easy things easy, and the complex things possible
  • You are intrinsically motivated to constantly evolve your product management fundamentals
  • You have a strong bias for action and are used to effectively delivering business impact with multiple teams
  • You lead without authority, ensuring all relevant team members and stakeholders are inspired, aligned, and committed
  • You are comfortable with regular customer interaction and are proficient in turning quantitative and qualitative data into insights
  • You have marvelous product intuition giving you the ability to make decisions even when there's a lot of ambiguity
  • You have a couple of years of experience working as a Product Manager on tech-enabled products

Aside from the above, there are a few nice-to-haves that will help you hit the ground running if you join our team:

  • You have SaaS and product-led growth experience
  • You have previously worked in remote and async teams
  • You have an eye for technical and design details without losing sight of the greater goal
  • You have a knack for leveraging the know-how of the entire organization using various ideation techniques or workshops
