The role

Does the idea of driving customer centricity across one of Australia’s hottest, and most successful fintechs excite you? Working closely with a rapidly growing team of nine product designers, a UX Researcher and a Research Ops, you’ll be responsible for driving product research across the organisation.

You will lead the UXR team of a UX Researcher and a Research Ops, and you report into the Director of Product Design.

You will work closely with Product, Marketing Research, CX, Data and Analytics teams to build holistic customer understanding across the business + leverage known knowns to triangulate UX Research data
This team will be across two roadmaps – the generative research roadmap, which encompasses projects that delivers long-term value. Then there’s the product roadmap – which encompasses discovery research, and supporting product designers achieve their research goals.

This is a 12 month full-time fixed-term contract.

You will also:

  • Design and conduct studies that inform product concepts; translate data into results that have a clear, direct impact on design, product, and operations
  • Design and conduct mix-method research studies, and identifying when lean methods are more effective, in a fast-paced scaleup environment
  • Identify research opportunities and give guidance and coaching on best practices
  • Establish and manage a research roadmap
  • Effectively communicate customer insights to diverse audiences, including senior leadership, through writing and presentations; represent user research in product discussions
  • Managing end-to-end research process: Identify and execute on high-impact projects, triage external requests, and bring projects to conclusion in time for the results to be useful
  • Overseeing and optimising well-established research operations (i.e. research recruitment, agency partnerships, research tools and platforms, research and recruitment process)
  • Play a key role in contributing to the Product Design team’s culture

To help us level up, you'll bring:

  • 7+ years of research experience, leading applied and strategic research initiatives
  • Exposure running a UX research team
  • Experience leading and owning complex research projects and driving end-to-end aspects of the design research lifecycle
  • Ability to influence and story tell, and guide teams to drive outcomes
  • Hands-on ethnography experience, insights and trends research, iterative prototype evaluation, mixed-methods, concept testing, lab-based user and usability testing
  • Ability to run synthesis and journey mapping workshops with a diverse set of stakeholders including designers, execs, product managers, strategists, customer support etc.
  • Finding opportunities and gaps and influencing people to begin initiatives to tackle these
  • Experience doing research with diverse populations and translating insights into experiences that deliver on the needs of a broad range of users
  • Experience with quantitative studies
