Role Description 

As a Researcher for a new Dropbox Product, you will partner with cross functional team members to identify and understand new problem spaces and craft experiences that create a more enlightened way of working. You’ll have the opportunity to influence product direction and address unmet customer needs in this exciting, fast-paced, and outcome-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Identify research needs in partnership with product teams for a 0→ 1 Product 
  • Design, plan, and execute research that impacts product team immediate roadmaps and longer term strategies
  • Implement multi-method research studies that incorporate both qual and quant methodologies
  • Adapt research process and practices to the growing needs of the organization
  • Advocate and guide strategy for design and product direction
  • Collaborate closely with researchers, PMs, Design, Data Science, and Marketing to evaluate experiences, understand user needs, and uncover product opportunities
  • Socialize research within the organization and across the company in innovative and engaging ways

Requirements 

  • 4+ years of UX-related work experience
  • Deep experience with mixed methods applied across the product development process
  • Experience working in B2B and/or B2C environment 
  • Demonstrated skills for collaborating closely with other researchers, designers, product managers and engineers
  • Clear, compelling presentation and communication style
  • Experience driving and supporting rapid research in a scrappy 0→1 environment

For candidates hired in San Francisco metro, New York City metro, or Seattle metro, the expected salary/On-Target Earnings (OTE) range for the role is currently $147,900 - $174,000 - $200,100 if you are assessed at the IC3 level. If you are instead assessed at the IC4 level, the expected salary/On-Target Earnings (OTE) range for the role is currently $171,700 - $202,000 - $232,300. 

For candidates hired in the following locations: Austin (TX) metro, Chicago metro, California (outside SF metro), Colorado, Connecticut (outside NYC metro), Delaware, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York (outside NYC metro), Oregon, Pennsylvania (outside NYC or DC metro), Washington (outside Seattle metro) and Washington DC metro, the expected salary/On-Target Earnings (OTE) range for the role is currently $133,100 - $156,600 - $180,100 if you are assessed at the IC3 level. If you are instead assessed at the IC4 level, the expected salary/On-Target Earnings (OTE) range for the role is currently $154,500 - $181,800 - $209,100. 

For candidates hired in all other US locations, the expected salary/On-Target Earnings (OTE) range for this role is currently $118,300 - $139,200 - $160,100 if you are assessed at the IC3 level. If you are instead assessed at the IC4 level, the expected salary/On-Target Earnings (OTE) range for the role is currently $137,400 - $161,600 - $185,800. 

Range(s) is subject to change. Dropbox takes a number of factors into account when determining individual starting pay, including job and level they are hired into, location/metropolitan area, skillset, and peer compensation. Dropbox uses the zip code of an employee’s remote work location to determine which metropolitan pay range we use. 

Salary/OTE is just one component of Dropbox’s total rewards package. All regular employees are also eligible for the corporate bonus program or a sales incentive (target included in OTE) as well as stock in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
