Our client's mission is to power global travel for everyone, everywhere. The Experience Design organization (XD) is their global, cross-disciplinary team uniting user experience design, content design, and research to enable innovative, relevant, and cohesive experiences that serve the needs of all their clients.
They’re looking for a motivated Content Designer II to help us envision and deliver delightful customer experiences that help travel advisors using manage their day-to-day business and client experiences. They work on a global scale for multiple brands, across devices and platforms, in a diverse and collaborative environment.
Reporting to their centralized Content Design practice, you’ll help drive the strategy and approach to content design for their travel advisor affiliate program.
While no two days are the same, your main responsibilities will include:
Displaying and applying foundational skills in writing content for digital products to ensure consistent voice and tone in your product area.
Structuring product content in appropriate formats for the user needs and business problems.
Designing content solutions within the technical constraints of a system, page, or element.
Demonstrating an understanding of how the multi-disciplinary team works together to solve user problems.
Demonstrating an understanding of the impacts and dependencies of content decisions across product flows and systems.
Demonstrating an understanding of how content scales at the product and platform level through UI frameworks, modularity, localization, and reuse.
Demonstrating an understanding of user-centered research and design practices.
Being objectively receptive and responsive to user feedback.
Clearly and confidently communicating decision-making rationale to team members and stakeholders.
Considering the audience's needs and context when designing solutions or presenting ideas.
You will exhibit knowledge of the organization's processes, objectives, and challenges and their impact on the business.
Leveraging project metrics, as well as previous test data and user feedback, when crafting or proposing new content.
They realize that content design is constantly evolving, and they know that no two people enter this field through the same path. So, they’re not expecting you to be a specialist in everything listed here, but they do ask that you demonstrate expertise commensurate with the job level in whichever methods you use.
Able to audit, analyze, structure, create, and present content with minimal or no supervision. Work focuses primarily on content in the presentation layer vs. underlying systems.
Developing skills in facilitation and storytelling.
Capable in core skills including UX Writing, Content Audits and Analysis, Content Mapping and Modeling, Content Planning and Sourcing, Conversational Design, and Information Architecture.
They’re also looking for people who will contribute frameworks to their growing team and their design system, so they’re excited to see how you scale your thinking.
Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience; Design, English, Communications, Journalism, Information Systems degree or relevant experience is applicable.
