Please let Merge know you found this offer on WeLoveProduct as a way to support us 🫶

At Merge, we revolutionize the way B2B companies integrate. Unfamiliar with the integration problem? The average company expects to spend hundreds of hours a year integrating with dozens or more vendors. Alignment between sales, partnerships, product management, design, engineering, and customer success (a lot, right?) is absolutely critical — and a major headache. Integrations are a to-do that goes on and on.

Our Unified API empowers developers to offer integrations with hundreds of platforms instantly. Now we’re hiring for you: an ambitious leader ready to help build, design, and support enterprise-grade software scaled to millions of users.

As an APM at Merge, you will be the end-to-end owner of an entire unified API vertical (think ATS, HRIS, accounting, and more). You will work closely with sales, engineering, design, and product marketing to drive forward a clear, concise vision and roadmap of features that revolutionize the way our customers operate.

We believe there is immense potential to expand our platform, both with deeper integrations in existing verticals, and horizontally into brand new ones. As an APM at Merge, you will sit at the heart of the business, driving 0 —> 1 product launches that thrill our customers and shape the future of our company.

What you will do:

  • Become an expert in your vertical (and you’ll probably own more than one). Proactively identify new use cases and propose new API updates, collaborating effectively across the company to ensure that your vertical’s development aligns with the company’s broader strategic goals.
  • Assume end-to-end ownership of your vertical’s roadmap, using customer feedback, market research, and close collaboration with stakeholders to appropriately prioritize product features. You will be rolling up your sleeves and jumping in directly, helping build out integrations when necessary. We’re scrappy and move quickly.
  • Be the loud, energetic champion of your space, communicating regular progress updates, informing the team about broader industry trends, and maintaining crisp, clear documentation of what we’ve built and why we’ve built it.
  • Embrace and navigate ambiguity, driving growth forward as your vertical’s visionary owner and champion. Surface key questions to leadership, clearly articulating available options along with your recommendation when irreversible decisions are on the line. Think in tradeoffs.
  • Maintain exceptionally high standards, both in your work and in the broader team’s work. Respond to inquiries, triage feature requests, and ensure effective resolution. Work closely with sales and post-sales to ensure our customers are happy.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 2+ years of experience in product management, engineering, data science, or similar technical fields.
    • A software engineering background or CS degree is a major plus
  • Strong technical understanding of modern API design and data integration processes.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with impeccable attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical skills and a talent for creative problem-solving.
  • Keen interest in industry trends and overall product innovation.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and influence decision-making.
  • Passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences through efficient and reliable integrations infrastructure.

Compensation

  • The cash compensation range for this role is $105,000-$135,000.
  • Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications. In addition to cash compensation, all employees receive an equity compensation package.

Benefits

  • Unlimited PTO + 10 company holidays
  • 100% covered health, vision, and dental insurance
  • 401K Plan
  • $200 one-time home office stipend
  • Free dinner when working past 7pm
