The Opportunity:

OpenTable is looking for an entrepreneurial, highly analytical, user-focused Associate Product Manager to join our team in [Remote]. This role will share responsibility for the Guest management platform that is used by restaurants around the world. .

As an Associate Product Manager dedicated to the Guest platform, you will collaborate closely with Senior Product Managers to help define the strategy for our web and mobile applications, develop feature requirements, and lead the execution phase of the product development process. You will work directly with strong design and engineering teams to ship world class features to our diners.

This role is an entry level position for individuals who are completely new to product management. The ideal candidate is self-starter and passionate about solving meaningful problems. You have grit and are resilient. If you don't have an answer to a question, you’ll push until you find it.

You will be trusted with a lot of responsibility and provided with opportunities to grow with hands-on learning & through mentorship. As you continue to grow and excel in this position, your product scope will increase and you’ll earn more leadership opportunities.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead the technical development of innovative products with a team of world-class engineers and designers
  • Facilitate development team meetings and become their go-to for requirements and functionality related questions
  • Synthesize and prioritize user needs and own the narrative of what problem should be solved, for whom, how, and why it matters
  • Build consensus and work collaboratively with engineering, design, and other key team members
  • Define success metrics and analyze performance, balancing quantitative and qualitative insights to drive decisions and iterate quickly
  • Get up to speed quickly in new domains, becoming a subject matter expert who leads by example
  • Keep a strong bias for stepping up and taking action, yet demonstrate a willingness to learn and take mentorship

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree is required
  • Fewer than 1 year of post-college work experience (part-time, internships. etc.)
  • Product sense – a strong product sense with an ability to envision technology solutions that address user needs and market opportunities
  • Analytical ability – a deep curiosity of metrics, the ability to identify the right metrics to track and report back on impact
  • Leadership – experience completing projects and partnering with cross-functional teams to drive high-quality results. Accept the challenges that come with a fast-paced, creative, and innovative technology environment
  • Communication skills – strong written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with engineering, design, and cross-functional teams
  • Technical understanding – past technical experience, or equivalent technical understanding. You should know what it takes to build tech products and drive technical decisions with engineers
