Team Description

The product marketing team at Pendo plays a crucial role in driving the success of their software platform along with continuing to improve our market-leading win rate. They are responsible for developing and executing strategic marketing initiatives to promote Pendo's products and solutions. Through thorough market research and competitive analysis, the team identifies target customer segments and creates compelling value propositions and messaging. They collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, sales, and customer success, to ensure successful product launches and go-to-market strategies. The product marketing team also leverages their deep understanding of customer needs and industry trends to drive customer acquisition, adoption, and retention, ultimately contributing to the growth and market leadership of Pendo.

Role Responsibilities 

Responsible for successfully launching new solutions into the market with a competitive win rate, helping create demand and ensuring that sales, marketing and customer success are consistent on messaging, pricing and packaging.

  • Strategy; you’ll build and execute, through your team, a product marketing strategy to help improve the success of our solutions in the market
  • Management; lead, develop and inspire a team of product marketers.
  • Product Champion; help inform the overall marketing strategy with valuable product marketing intelligence. Be the evangelist, internally and externally, for our full solutions set and monitor the performance of solutions to educate key stakeholders.
  • Customer Research; build detailed persona’s and gain a deep understanding of the markets we serve to help inform sales and marketing activities.
  • Competitor Intelligence; build and keep up to date a competitor comparison matrix. Using this intelligence to inform new product development, pricing strategies and marketing tactics.
  • Product Messaging; using customer research and competitor intelligence, develop product positioning and messaging, including differentiators and use cases.
  • GTM; work closely with sales and marketing teams to create and support the go-to-market strategy.
  • Stakeholder Management; work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders and regularly present to the board.
    • Work with product managers, engineers, and sales teams to ensure that products are launched and marketed successfully
    • Developing and executing marketing campaigns that are effective in generating leads and driving sales.
    • Work with Product to ensure products are priced competitively and packaged in a way that meets the needs of the target market.
    • Tracking and analyzing the performance of marketing campaigns to identify areas for improvement.
    • Develop and implement metrics to measure the effectiveness of campaigns

Minimum Qualifications  

  • Previous people management experience in a pure product marketing role for a SaaS business
  • The ability to understand and articulate technical concepts and translate these into compelling, commercial, customer focussed communications
  • Data driven, measured and results focussed
  • Experience of presenting product marketing plans and concepts at board level
  • Strong understanding of all elements of the product marketing process.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Knowledge of product analytics
  • Experience marketing into PM or CIO persona

Compensation

Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of many compensation, benefits and other reward opportunities we provide.

The expected salary range for this role to be performed in:

Raleigh, NC - USD $245,000 - $265,000

New York City, NY - USD $260,000 - USD $285,000

Individual pay rate decisions, including offers made within and over the expected salary range, are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company.
