The Vice President of Product Management - Travel will report directly to the Chief Product Officer and will play a pivotal role in shaping the product strategy and execution within the travel domain. This leader will own the end-to-end customer journey for our merchant partners, ensuring a seamless and impactful experience that drives value for both partners and end users.

The VP will be tasked with optimizing existing product offerings, identifying gaps, and launching innovative solutions that address the evolving needs of our travel-focused merchant partners. By deeply understanding market trends, customer pain points, and partner requirements, this role will ensure the company remains a leader in delivering cutting-edge solutions tailored for the travel industry.

In addition, the VP will oversee a team of talented product managers, providing mentorship, guidance, and development opportunities to build a world-class product management organization. This individual will be responsible for hiring, nurturing, and retaining top talent while fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and own the product vision and strategy for the travel domain, ensuring alignment with overall company objectives and the needs of merchant partners.
  • Oversee the design, development, launch, and optimization of products to deliver an exceptional end-to-end customer journey for travel merchant partners.
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of product managers.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and collaboration within the product management organization.
  • Collaborate closely with merchant partners and commercial teams to deeply understand their pain points and evolving needs.
  • Act as the primary product advocate in cross-functional discussions with engineering, sales, marketing, and customer success teams.
  • Stay ahead of market trends, competitive offerings, and emerging technologies to ensure the company’s products are innovative and market-leading.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success, customer satisfaction, and business impact.
  • Identify opportunities for new products or features to address unmet needs in the travel space.
  • Drive ideation, prototyping, and execution of innovative solutions.

Skills and Experience

  • 12+ years of product management, data science or engineering experience, with experience in managing multiple product managers.
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering or STEM field
  • A track record of success in delivering products and driving strategy that meets customer needs
  • Understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and web technologiesSeasoned organizational design thinking on how to best structure a cross-functional product development group
  • Excellent people management and engagement skillsExperience in a fast-paced environment, and deep experience with product development lifecycle, roadmap prioritization, customer-driven innovation in such an environment, ideally in both B2B and D2C. 
  • Proven track record of increasing revenue through product innovation

*The cash compensation range for this role is up to $350,000 if located in San Francisco. Compensation will vary based on location and experience. All roles are eligible to receive equity.
