Section 2: About the Role

We are looking for a VP of Product Design to lead our suite of products at Alto. As VP of product design you will lead product design and research’s core operations, structure, vision, strategy and outcomes, guide the team through all aspects of the design lifecycle and ensure that every interaction of our customers (patients, providers, internal) is clear and delightful. 

As VP of Product design you will also lead Alto’s approach to UX research to identify opportunities and quantify the business case for new projects and will partner closely with leaders across Product, Engineering and Commercial to deliver world class user experience and to define the way we design and build products at Alto.

Responsibilities

• Craft and communicate a compelling long-term design strategy and vision
• Shape existing customer experiences and identify new opportunities for growth
• Lead the design lifecycle for your team - from problem definition to design implementation
• Collaborate with product, engineering, research, product marketing as well as other cross functional teams to ensure product initiatives are well-defined, high impact, and successfully executed
• Create broad visibility into learnings and impact; develop organization-wide understanding of and enthusiasm for the strategic impact your team delivers to the company
• Work closely with design leadership to ensure a cohesive customer experience across all products
• Manage and coach multi-disciplined teams of ICs and Managers
• Grow the design team by attracting and hiring new talent

A Bit About You:

Requirements

• At least 7 years of professional experience leading or managing a design team and 10 years within the design community
• Hired and managed a growing team across multiple levels and skill sets
• A portfolio of relevant design work, executed either by yourself or a team that you led, that conveys an ability to ship successful products that customers love
• Deep experience working with product managers, engineering and product marketing to drive vision, strategy and execution
• Experience attracting and hiring design talent
• Think strategically act tactically: A hands-on, self starter leader, with high ownership, who can think big, but also dive-deep and straddle both altitudes while connecting the dots
• Outstanding stakeholder presence and collaboration skills

Salary Range: $260,000 - $300,000* + Bonus + Equity

*Please note this range is specific to employees working in Colorado. Salary ranges for remote candidates working outside of Colorado can be subject to regionalized compensation based on their respective work location.
