About Visa Direct

Visa Direct is a payment network that Visa provides to clients (issuers, acquirers, processors, merchants, and service providers) to facilitate fund transfers and disbursements to cards and accounts around the world using push payment technology. Visa Direct consumer and business applications include person to person (P2P) transfer, person to micro-business transfer, cross border remittance and funds disbursements (e.g., marketplace seller payouts, insurance claim disbursements, acquirer merchant settlement).

Visa Direct enables Visa to have access to 99% of the banked adults in the top 50 markets around the world. This its being accomplished through an integration between Visa Direct and the platform acquired from Earthport now renamed Visa Payments Limited (VPL)

Visa Direct offers now the ability to send to card, send to account and soon send to digital wallets. Visa Direct is designed to support the needs of a large segment of originators that Visa has not historically been able to work with, namely Corporate and Treasury Banks and Cross Border Remitters.

Visa Direct also offers Alias Directory and other Value-Added Services, to enrich the money movement transactions.

About the Role – Head of Products & Networks for Visa Direct

The main objective of this role is to rationalize the legacy and acquired capabilities into a single operating platform to deliver a fast, secure, and efficient money movement network, for the send and receiving of funds domestic and cross border. Design and define the best product and information architecture to facilitate money movement through multiple end points. Integrate assets, functionalities and capabilities that exist today across the various Visa assets that make up Visa Direct to develop a consistent, holistic, and integrated value proposition. This leader will design and define the platform strategy for Visa Direct as an overarching platform for money movement inside Visa.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic planning and management of the entire Visa Direct Platform Portfolio
  • Definition and alignment of the vision, strategy, and roadmap, to establish Visa Direct as a key player in the money movement space
  • Set the platform strategy and direction across the business units and the interaction with treasury services, Value Added Services group, and other internal partners
  • Drive platform development efforts by actively partnering with the Technology team and other product groups to generate innovating solutions to client needs
  • Define and execute the integrated API, Client Onboarding, Transaction Lifecyle and Payment Operations Management roadmaps across business units (VPL, YP, VD)
  • Adopt an agile mindset to oversee the team's product development efforts, ensuring the final product is functional, well documented, operational, and meets design and feature specifications
  • Partner with the Visa Direct business unit leaders to ensure successful delivery of client solutions and the product roadmap. 
  • Partner with treasury teams, operational teams, digital platforms, commercial teams, and clients in key growth areas for Visa Direct
  • Define and consistently measure quantifiable goals, key metrics, and launching timelines.
  • Define resource allocation, investment and the proper business cases to secure revenue generation and acceleration to time to market
  • This leader will oversee the multiple platform teams across business units in a dotted and solid line reporting structure
  • Accelerate time to revenue by challenging status quo and driving efficiencies in key areas like Client Onboarding and Network expansion.
  • Reviewing and developing tools to improve the efficiency of the teame mandates with regards to cash management, funding optimization, liquidity, settlement fx management

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
• 12 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or at least 8 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s degree or equivalent work experience
• 15+ years of Product and Platform Development experience with history of delivering customer-centric and complex solutions in a fast-paced work environment
• Strong knowledge of Treasury Services products (Payments, Receivables, Liquidity, FX and others)
• Strong knowledge of Payment Networks, ACHs, RTPs and Open Banking network infrastructure and messaging formats.
• Deep domain knowledge with tech platforms that operate in treasury services, remittances, transaction banking, notional switching, digital wallets, in single and multicurrencyenvironments across financial services
• Experience building API solutions and integration orchestration layers of multiple tech stacks into single platform offerings
• In-depth knowledge of ERP (SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.)
• Experience in all phases of the technology integration life cycle, including requirements gathering, design, build, testing, documentation, client onboarding, and testing
• Experience in Agile and Iterative development methodologies
• Knowledge of emerging technologies as well as practitioner on design thinking
• Deep grasp and curiosity for emerging and submerging payment trends globally and having the anticipative vison to bring new functionality to the platform to meet market and client needs and also having the foresight to sundown non relevant functionality
• Demonstrates extensive abilities in designing, developing, and implementing new processes, tools and platforms to standardize, automate
• Continuous mindset to identify problems and opportunities to developpe actionable transparent solutions the organization
• Strong communication ability to simplify complex issues technology matters in business terms and vice versa
