Visual Designer, Product & job at Formant

As a member of Formant's inaugural design team, you'll be at the forefront of brand and experience design in robotics, setting standards for an exciting new space. This is also a unique opportunity to establish the design culture for a growing company, with support from a design leader passionate about craft, mentorship, collaboration, and customer success.

What you'll do:

Mostly product, some marketing and communications.
Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other designers on designing screen flows for the Formant product UI.
Collaborate with the marketing team on updating the Formant marketing site, designing distributable product guides, and creating graphics for social media.
Design presentation decks for internal communications.
Maintain our UI component library and visual identity system.
Partner with the Design Director in shaping Formant's design process and culture.

To do this well, you should have:

A strong graphic design background, skilled in extending color/typography/grid systems across a variety of media.
A stellar visual portfolio with examples of web/mobile UI design, iconography, and marketing materials.
Experience designing for complex high-density applications such as financial dashboards, design/engineering tools, games, or even sci fi interfaces for films!
Experience using Figma to create production-ready screens and maintain UI component libraries.
A sensibility for balancing design vision with user, business, and engineering goals.
An interest in robotics or other technical topics.

Not required for this role, but we'd love to know if you have experience in:

Data visualization
3D/XR design
Motion graphics
Programming (especially in CSS or React)
Illustration
