Visual Designer

We are looking for a Visual Designer experienced with digital executions to help design and create beautiful screen experiences. You’ll evolve the Buildkite digital presence and design system, helping Buildkite to communicate clearly and boldly.

You’ll be responsible for the roll-out of a holistic website refresh, influencing our design and communications strategies while working with multidisciplinary designers and engineers from around the world.

Designing a new feature landing page in Figma, – on Basecamp, responding to direction and feedback from colleagues across different teams;

Collaborating with the marketing team over Linear and Zoom on campaign strategy, execution and delivery;

Sharing feedback and ideas during our weekly design sync on Zoom;

Pairing with engineers and devs to stress-test responsive design approaches;

Taking creative direction for our conference or podcast, and using your experience to refine the outcome of deliverables;

Video chats with team members to discuss and solve problems, or just because you want to say hi!

Someone who is excited to push the boundaries of what experiences can be created within browsers and devices;

Experience working across digital design projects of various sizes, communicating well at all stages while working iteratively to achieve great outcomes;

Demonstrated skill and experience designing for online experiences, understanding the opportunities and challenges it presents;

High attention to detail, striving to execute stunning consistency across all communications;

Comfortable working remotely. We are a remote-first company, so you will need to be comfortable in taking initiative when team members are offline, as well as working collaboratively through project management tools such as Linear and treating others with empathy and kindness.

Have experience designing for a range of onscreen touchpoints with understanding around how different assets require different applications;

Are adept with screen design practice relating to problem-solving, concept development, layout, colour and typography

Are adept with screen design practices relating to process, wireframing, UI and responsive design

Have experience with HTML, CSS and Javascript, and have used GitHub to collaborate with developers. 

Get excited by a new type of CSS property; 

Are proficient in the use of tools to develop + present visual design stages such as Figma, Adobe and Gsuite;

Bonus points If you love working with UI motion + 3D
