Do you have a love for design, a keen understanding of what constitutes a great user experience and a passion for review and quality assurance? 

At Canva, we want to unlock the creativity of 3rd Party developers and empower them to build valuable apps and integrations that meet the diverse needs of our Canva customers. 

We are looking for a skilled and experienced UX /UI Design lead to oversee the process to review and support the development of 3rd Party Apps to meet Canva’s quality bar before being released to millions of our Canva customers. 

Your goal will be to empower your team to assess each App on the overall quality and usability of the App experience as well as provide consistent education, guidance and feedback to developers on how they can go above and beyond our minimum quality criteria to build an exceptional App experience for our Canva customers. 
This position requires a high attention to detail, ability to problem solve and the ability to coach and empower your team to support the development of great user experiences in a scalable way. 

What you’ll be doing...

  • Creating a robust and scalable App Design review process and framework that empowers you and your growing App Design Review team to be effective. 
  • Support your App Design review team to understand and consistently apply our developer quality guidelines and checklists.
  • Collaborate closely with our broader App Support team to ensure consistency of review and that the quality standards are correctly applied.
  • Collaborate closely with our broader App Support team to identify areas that require additional education and guidelines to minimize App rejections and improve the overall quality of App submissions.
  • Respond to new undefined UX/UI challenges and work with our Ecosystem Design team and group stakeholders to drive forward improvements in our quality guidelines and design recommendations.
  • Collaborate with our Design system team to propose or contribute to new components and patterns appropriate to improving the quality and integrity of  Canva App experiences. 
  • Collaborate with our Partnerships team to provide opportunities to empower and inspire our 3rd party developer community with design education, design tips and recommendations. 
  • Provide both written and verbal feedback and guidance to developers through design consultations.

  • You love quality assurance challenges and enjoy setting up new operations and frameworks to set you and your team up for scale.

We'd love it if you...

  • Have experience in setting up and executing quality assurance operations 
  • Have strong demonstrated experience in applying design principles and user centered design methodologies to build quality UX / UI experiences. 
  • Understand user thinking and interactions to improve usability and accessibility with demonstrated experience in applying and contributing to a design system to improve a user experience. 
  • Have strong written, visual and verbal communication skills to effectively provide guidance and recommendations 
  • Experience in leading and coaching a small team to effectively deliver output and maintain cadences within target timelines.
