About the job

As a UX Writer in the Product Documentation team, your mission will be to create a simple and engaging user experience through the power of words. You will be the owner of the Scaleway console wording, which is… yes, technical.

Your job will be to make complex information clear and easy to understand. In collaboration with the other technical writers, you'll pursue the goal of helping our users complete tasks. You will also collaborate closely with our Product Designers and the Marketing team to ensure consistency and make sure that everything we launch follows our guidelines.

You will mainly work in English but be aware that the Scaleway console is also translated into French and German. You will have to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively, both autonomously and as part of a team. We will ask for a writing sample, so please be prepared for that :)

Responsibilities

Drive the Scaleway console wording and overall coherence
Identify current pain points and come up with areas of improvement
Be a driving force in the evangelization of your role at Scaleway and participate in the roadmap of UX writing in the company
Improve the Scaleway Documentation website with guidelines and best practices
Collaborate with many different teams across the company and make sure they are following the process you put in place

Minimum qualifications

You are a native or bilingual English speaker (and writer). Spelling and grammar must be excellent. Another language is a plus!
You can write clear, concise user-interface content for products. You can articulate complex concepts for features in any context (you can write anything from error messages and navigation items to headlines)
You are able to conduct continuous user research and data analysis to make sure we always use the right wording for our users
You can work with other content creators to ensure consistency, share best practices, and coordinate with other writing teams for a seamless product experience

Preferred qualifications

You have experience with Figma
You have extensive knowledge of SEO with a proven track record of results
You can work in a "docs as code" environment, where documentation and other assets are processed and delivered according to practices similar to those used in software development. We work mainly with GitHub, GitLab and VScode therefore, you will need to apprehend those tools.
You have a background in technical writing
You have a strong affinity with the IT industry
You are flexible & open to working on various tasks that are not always strictly within your scope

This position can be either:

- Based in our offices in Paris or Lille (France), partial remote is possible

37,000 - 49,000+ EUR per year
