At Too Good To Go, we dream of a planet with no food waste.

Did you know that more than one-third of all food produced gets thrown away? This unnecessary food waste equates to 10% of greenhouse gas emissions!

Too Good To Go is a food waste-fighting app and a certified B Corporation. We connect stores that have unsold, surplus food with consumers who buy and enjoy it. We have over 53 million registered app users in 17 locations across Europe, the US and North America. Together, we have saved more than 136 million meals from going to waste!

Your mission

We save two meals every second, all thanks to our millions of daily users. Yes! 2 meals every second, so it is vitally important that we continue to create a product that consumers love and a product that ‘makes sense’ to our partners. As the demand grows we want our product to grow with it.

We are looking for a UX researcher to focus on understanding the Too Good To Go user. We work with both consumers and stores to improve and create new experiences.

You will deep-dive into finding out why people use the app? What are the friction points or barriers that negatively impact the experience? What don’t we know and how can we get there?

You will work with product teams and help us to understand all things that we cannot monitor from the user behaviour in our app and then use the findings to help drive our product direction.

Responsibilities include:

  • Carry out detailed qualitative user research, investigating the relationship between society and technology.
  • Design and execute research projects for both unmoderated and moderated sessions.
  • Collaborate with product managers to identify which areas must be prioritised and then construct an action plan to go out and start testing.
  • Translate findings into actionable customer insights working with the wider teams to maximise this knowledge and develop our product.
  • Investigate global differences; by understanding why it is successful in one location, but not in another? Is it a multicultural &/or multilinguistic location? What other factors could we take into consideration?
  • Work with other researchers to ensure good practices and holistic insights.

Requirements

  • Relevant experience in applied product research - Within a tech application is a huge advantage.
  • Experience in working with a variety of qualitative methods such as: usability testing, user interviews, field research, survey design, etc.
  • A clear and detailed communicator. You must be comfortable in presenting back to a diverse audience.
  • First-hand experience using data to generate powerful presentations and story-telling sessions, both orally and written.
  • Autonomous, you must be able to structure your day and prioritise your workload.
  • Fantastic interpersonal skills; as you will be 'owning' this remit, many people will want your understanding and insights - being able to manage their expectations is essential.
  • Inquisitive by nature with a genuine love of being hands-on and finding answers to hard-to-know questions.

Our values

  • We fight together: food waste is a big beast to fight. We can do it if we fight together as Waste Warriors with no ego. We believe in a #oneteam.
  • We raise the bar: we always push for more. We work smart, smash barriers and elevate one another.
  • We keep it simple: our ambitions are bold but our solutions are simple.
  • We build a legacy: we’re proud of the change we’re driving.
  • We care: we always look out for each other. Caring is also about the way we do business. We do the right thing.

What we have to offer

  • A rare opportunity to work in a social impact company (and certified B Corporation!) where you get to wake up every day knowing you’re achieving positive change.
  • The experience of being part of an international company with 1050 + enthusiastic and highly talented teammates across 16 countries (and counting) – always ready to share knowledge and support!
  • Strong personal as well as professional development in an intense and high-growth scale-up environment.
  • An open company culture where you have the independence and room to unleash your creativity.
  • A strong team culture where successes are celebrated together.
