UX Researcher- Contractor (32 hours)6 months

SoundCloud is a next-generation music entertainment company powered by an ecosystem of artists, fans, and thriving communities. As one of the world’s most influential cultural platforms, SoundCloud holds a singular market position as both a music-streaming service with the largest catalog of music and an artist services and distribution business to help artists grow long-term, successful careers.

We are looking for a UX Researcher- Contractor for 32 hours per week(4 days) for 6 months. 

Responsibilities:

• Conduct research & data activities, including weekly usability testing/user interviews/surveys to gather valuable insights around user behaviors, attitudes, and mental models
• Work alongside data analysts/scientists to understand usage to triangulate various data points in your research
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including designers and product managers, to integrate user feedback into the design and development process.
• Apply psychology principles & UX methodologies that help create intuitive and user-friendly digital music experiences
• Analyze research data and present actionable recommendations to improve product usability and overall user experience.
• Work closely with Senior UX Researchers and designers to support research initiatives and projects.
• Consistently stay informed about industry trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies to contribute innovative ideas to the team

Qualifications & Skills:

• Strong understanding of both the design thinking & product development process
• Experience in creating jobs to be done framework, journey maps, segmentation, heuristic evaluation. 
• Experience integrating user research into product designs and design practices. 
• Demonstrated knowledge of UX principles and research methodologies.
• Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Design OR equivalent experience in the UX field
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to efficiently plan and execute research tasks.
• Excellent communication & presentation skills to effectively present insights and collaborate with team members
• Passion for understanding people and creating products that meet their needs
• Familiarity with tools such as Miro, Google Slides, Figma, Excel, Ethnio, UserTesting.com, Confluence, Reduct, Braze, Pendo
