The B2B UX Research Manager will report to the Director of UX Research, and will lead projects and a team to support business and product stakeholders. Our B2B team encompasses three key user audiences: experiences operators, travel agents, and affiliates.Research projects range from exploratory to evaluative, including interviews, focus groups, surveys, usability testing and more. This is a hands-on role; both individual research and team management activities are included in scope.

The ideal UX Research Manager will be experienced in qualitative methods such as in-depth interviewing and usability testing and be effective at designing surveys and survey analysis. They should be passionate about research and travel, comfortable in a fast moving organization, and excited to collaborate. They will have experience with working with B2B audiences, people management and have a passion to mentor, coach and inspire researchers. 

What You’ll Do

  • Supporting UX research initiatives with operators, travel agents, and affiliates.]

  • Managing relationships with outside vendors, programming surveys, and owning research databases and archives 

  • Building and growing a team of researchers

  • Managing career growth and mentorship for direct reports

  • Contributing to research team initiatives to improve processes and research methods

  • Identify and optimize key opportunities to develop user insights and influence customer behavior to drive towards Viator’s goals

  • Work cross-functionally with product marketing, product management, and business leadership to define, prioritize, and execute research initiatives

  • Define research strategy and manage projects across a variety of methodologies, leveraging a mixed-methods approach as appropriate

  • Design from scratch and conduct qualitative studies (usability studies, interviews, etc.), analyze data, and share findings  

  • Create and field surveys, analyze responses, and report findings

  • Maintain ongoing research initiatives including projects with external research vendors

  • Communicate research findings internally in clear and compelling ways

  • Assist with managing and developing the Research Operations function to enable more efficient, impactful research across teams

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum BA/BS degree in psychology, communication, statistics or other related field

  • Advanced degree in HCI or other behavioral or social sciences a plus

  • Experience working in B2B environments is required

  • 6+ years of professional applied research experience

  • Extensive experience with qualitative research methods

  • Experience with quantitative research methods (e.g. surveying) and statistics

  • Detail oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Ability to ask, and answer, meaningful and impactful questions

  • Clear communication skills - both verbal and written

  • People management and mentorship experience
