We have a suite of API products that automate tax-related workflows for any internet company. Those products are Lookup, Tax, Invoicing, and Reporting.

We may discover novel customer needs as we learn, and spin up new products as needed.

About the role

Fonoa’s UX Research team is on a mission to revolutionize how global businesses like Uber and Zoom manage their taxes.

As a UX Researcher at Fonoa, you will play a key role in our rapidly growing inclusive and diverse team.You will work with all members of the product team to deliver world-class experiences for all our users. The UX Research team plays a central role in discovering user needs, motivations and behaviour in order to deliver products that add critical value.

Our customers and partners will consume everything you touch. You will have a direct and immediate impact on everything we ship. In your role, you will own projects from conception to launch and measure success through data and user research.

You'll play a key role in road mapping, feature design, and the quality of our products, and your work will impact both user and business goals.

What you will be doing:

• Owning the research roadmap and research work for a specific product area
• Identifying, planning, organizing, and executing the research needed
• Partnering with internal Tax Experts and PMs for product discovery, feature prioritization, and road mapping
• Working with other researchers, designers, internal tax experts, and product managers to define both the long-term strategy and the short-term tactics for our products
• Evangelizing research across the organization to help all our teams be customer-focused
• Gathering and processing customer feedback in order to help shape product roadmaps
• You will deeply understand the problem space you’re working on and our current product offering
• You will work on developing a UR roadmap that the product team stands behind.

You would be a great fit if:

• You believe that an important part of the role of User Research is to educate the rest of the team on our users and you think that evangelization and stakeholder buy-in is key
• You have 3+ years of relevant user research experience working on digital experiences and specializing in generating actionable insights that drive impact
• You have excellent stakeholder management skills, both internal and external
• You can conduct complex research at scale and demonstrate the use of a variety of research methods, which may include qualitative interviews, surveys, ideation sessions, ethnographic field research, usability evaluation, benchmarking, and diary studies.
• You have previous experience with developer-focused, B2B and/or enterprise products
• Experience with niche user groups and Interest/experience in finance/fintech/taxes is plus
• You are fully proficient in English, written and spoken. We are a diverse bunch from around the world, but we work in English.
• You have a strong sense of ownership, care about what you build, and build the right thing that serves your customers.
