About the Role

The UX team at UW is growing fast and we're looking for someone who can help us create, champion and drive our design systems strategy.

You'll be part of a highly collaborative UX community, whose mission is to make managing utilities effortless for our customers.

You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the digital experiences across all of our platforms, and will be responsible for delivering a coherent and consistent design language at scale, owning the design systems development process to enable teams to move more quickly.

What you'll do

Work across multiple product teams with responsibility for driving design consistency across all our digital customer journeys, including responsive web and native apps (IOS & Android)
Work with UX designers to distil user insights and business requirements into simple design executions
Establish and maintain a close relationship with engineers to develop a governance model that enables the system to scale and evolve to meet the needs of our product teams
Maintain and evolve the existing Figma design system and components library through collaboration with wider teams
Documentation of new components, design rules, patterns, style guides and interaction guides, enabling teams to build experiences quickly, consistently and efficiently
Continuously test new design patterns with our customers to make sure they are intuitive and easy to use
Work closely with the brand and marketing teams to ensure our work aligns with brand guidelines and marketing campaign creatives
Create word-class micro-interactions to bring our digital product experiences to life
Collaborate with product managers, engineers and key stakeholders and be the voice of our customers
Understand the importance of inclusive design and always meet accessibility standards
Make continuous improvements through running experiments, A/B testing, user testing and user feedback
Work in partnership with engineers to ensure smooth handover of design specs
Run design ideation workshops to drive shared understanding across teams

About you

Highly proficient in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
Experience designing large and complex, scaleable, multi-channel design systems
Strong background in design systems, UI design and a good understanding of UX
A good understanding of user-centred design with the ability to balance user and business needs
Passionate about good design with exceptional attention to detail
Able to clearly demonstrate your process, methodology and approach to design systems strategy
A self-motivated individual who enjoys delivering high quality work in a fast-paced environment
Enjoy being part of a UX/design community to share, collaborate and give/receive feedback on our work
An effective communicator who can confidently share design concepts clearly
