Founded in 2016 by Jean-Charles Samuelian and Charles Gorintin, Alan is the first independent digital health insurance in France since 1986.

By providing our members with delightful health insurance bundled with innovative healthcare services, Alan's long-term goal is to help all people have a personalized and accessible healthcare experience.

As of today, Alan covers more than 250,000 members, representing over €160m+ of annualized revenue. We are looking for a strong UI designer at Alan. This is an opportunity to change the face of healthcare in Europe. By defining the look-and-feel of Alan products, you will have a tangible impact on the industry and peoples' relationship with their doctors and health network.

For this role, we expect you to bring technical rigour in visual design fundamentals, create beautiful ideas and patterns, and work with other designers to elevate our UI craft. This is a growing team within the Design Community where we are adding specialists (like you!).

Expand the Murray Design System - Tweak and perfect our components so they work in design, map correctly in code and meet accessibility standards. Expand the Design System with patterns and plug-ins to bring consistency and polish across Alan’s products.

Core UI and visual skills - Bring technical UI skills around typography, color theory, iconography and other fundamentals.Have a keen eye and skill for micro-interactions and animation. Lead initiatives to source and define spot illustrations, animations, and other visual assets for Alan’s products.

Raise the bar of visual design at Alan -Work hand-in-hand with product designers to produce high-quality experiences. Conduct frequent UI reviews with designers at Alan to help them raise the bar for their UI flows. Become an expert visual designer in the community and maintain strong UX principles to back-up your process.

Thrive in adapting to different working styles - Adapt to different working styles and communication methods of designers and developers. Be comfortable with learning, iterating, and challenging the state of our products. Create an environment open to feedback, and a healthy culture of sharing knowledge and ideas.

- Diverse UI skills across platforms (we’d like to see your breadth of work!)

- A portfolio of high-quality UI design that shows conceptual and implemented work across industries

- Solid technical graphic design skills in typography and iconography

- A great eye for detail and beautifully-crafted products

- Able to balance creating beautiful UIs with technical constraints and business needs

- Motion design and micro-interaction experience

- Experience in a senior UI role at a company

- Minimum of 5 years of work experience

- Fluency in English 

- You've already worked in a product company

- Familiar with product design tools such as Adobe Create Suite and Figma

- Some front-end coding experience

- Introductory call and an offline portfolio review

- Written questions

- Paid exercise to understand your visual skills and a small presentation to the team
