About this role

Deel is on the lookout for a dedicated Technical Writer (Policies and Procedures) to join our Knowledge Team. Are you passionate about transforming complex procedures into clear, actionable steps? Do you excel at identifying gaps in processes? If you're someone who thrives on organization and enjoys the challenge of making content user-friendly, this role is for you.

The Knowledge Team at Deel is responsible for managing and scaling crucial information about our products and services throughout the company. This role focuses on enhancing internal understanding and compliance through well-crafted, easily digestible policy documents and SOPs.

What You'll Do at Deel

  • Work with stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership, to develop clear, structured SOPs.

  • Support the General and Administrative (G&A) teams in drafting policy documents by providing templates, guidelines, and editing expertise to ensure quality and consistency.

  • Maintain and update existing SOPs and policy documents to reflect changes in processes or regulations.

  • Collaborate with teams involved in Product Go-to-Market and other key organisational processes to ensure SOPs are accurately maintained and aligned with process updates.

  • Assist in the enablement of policy updates to ensure company-wide understanding and adherence.

  • Engage with subject matter experts to gather necessary details for accurate and effective documentation.

  • Utilize data and feedback to optimize the clarity and effectiveness of all procedural content.

  • Ensure all documentation is accessible and understandable for a global, diverse audience.

  • Enhance and structure content to improve AI-driven search, ensuring information is accurately surfaced for internal and external teams.

  • Test and refine documentation to validate that AI tools deliver correct and relevant outputs.

Some Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or a Bachelor's degree in English, communications, or related field with experience in process documentation or policy writing.

  • 3+ years experience as a technical writer. 

  • Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills.

  • Proven ability to distill complex processes into clear, understandable content.

  • Skilled in designing and formatting content for readability and easy navigation.

  • Experience with Confluence/Jira, Figma and/or other diagramming, wire-framing and collaborative tools. 

  • Meticulous attention to detail with a keen eye for accuracy.

We’d Especially Love to Speak with You If You Have:

  • Crafted policies and procedures for SaaS or Fintech companies.

  • Experience in high-growth startups or managing documentation in fast-paced environments.

  • Worked with remote or distributed teams to create universally comprehensible content.

  • A background in legal or compliance-related writing, ensuring adherence to industry-specific regulations.

  • Created content for cross-cultural audiences whose first language may not be English.
