Context & Objectives

As a leading marketplace for long-distance travel, BlaBlaCar consolidates propositions from hundreds of bus carriers in Europe and Latam. These carriers manage their inventory (trips, timetables, prices) in the specialized software - IInventory Management Systems (IMS). In order to sell their tickets on BlaBlaCar, we need to connect their IMS to our GDS (Global Distribution System) via API.

Role & Responsibilities

Your mission as a Tech Product Owner will be to deliver the maximum possible business outcome with the development of these API connections.

In particular, you will be contributing to:

Designing the technical approach for connecting specific partner
Delivering high-quality specifications to engineers.
Finding product trade-offs for the best outcome/effort ratio (each carrier has very specific flows to work with seat maps, discounts, cancellations, refunds, etc. it’s not always possible to support all the features)
Acting as an API integration project manager - lead each integration project planning and coordination of work between internal Blablacar and/or Technical Partners' teams
Maintaining direct and active relationships with partner's tech stakeholders, including proactively resolving technical issues and serving as an internal product & tech advocate
Communicate and collaborate with a broad range of internal stakeholders, e.g. Business, Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Legal teams
Monitoring business metrics - the outcome of the connected protocols.

You will be the “owner” of all the protocols in the CEE region.

You will be part of the “Connection Platform” team and report to the Product Manager for the Connection Platform. You will also closely collaborate with the Tech Product Owner for Latam and other tech and business stakeholders.

What you will need to be successful?

2+ years professional experience in a similar role
Practical experience in engineering/development in a Software or Digital environment
Hands-on practical experience with moving/managing tasks through software development life cycle or in a digital environment
Experience with managing the process of production release deployment or running digital campaigns
Project management or technical consulting experience
Experience working in project management information systems like Jira or Confluence
Knowledge in SAAS platform management and APIs development (or integration), understanding of key metrics for SAAS B2B products
Experience as engineering customer and partnership management
Fluent English, Russian, and Ukrainian in speaking and writing
